Shame on it!
20 October 2005
Vote 1 out of 10 means awful film. And that's sure. I don't understand how it's possible to make films like that. The subject is interesting: a family becomes suddenly victim of the attentions by a mysterious guy who sends VHS and strange pictures. It's interesting to discover the reactions of the members of the family. But the realization is something terrible: Slow rhythm, too long shots, TV-kind of direction, and, above all, the bitter end, oops, non-end. Two great actors, as Daniel Auteil and Juliette Binoche are, surely make many people run to the cinema, but this way spectators won't go next time. Films like that are very dangerous! Shame on it!

very good!
4 July 2005
I saw first three films with Aldo Giovanni & Giacomo, three actors I loved very much in their TV gags. In their films, by my opinion, they didn't succeed in making good plots (that is basic for a good film). After having missed their LA LEGGENDA DI AL, JOHN & JACK, I've come back to Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo's movies and I'm very satisfied. TU LA CONOSCI CLAUDIA is perhaps their first real film, with a real story and many humorous scenes (some of them really amusing). I appreciate their effort in order make a film that wasn't only a sum of gags, but had an interesting plot. Perhaps the choice of leaving direction to Massimo Venier has been important in order to give more substance to plot and also for acting better. I think the film makes people's soul happy and I've come out from the cinema with a smile on my face.

Awful
2 July 2004
Warning: Spoilers
One of the worst films I've seen this year. It's neither amusing nor dramatic. There is a terrible story, lack of pathos, and holes of script too: why did Sophie want to go away from the isle and then didn't do?

And the ending? It's very anomalous that Olivier has adapted himself so quickly to new situation. And what happen underwater in the final scene? There are many confuses passages. Or perhaps I did not pay attention. In recent years I've seen many interesting French films (comedies, action movies), but this fails. There is only a good thing: Barbara Schulz. She's very pretty!

interesting. but not exciting
23 June 2003
I saw this film yesterday (it has been released in Italy on 2003 June, 13th, four years after his American release!). I was looking forward for it, but I am a bit disappointed: interesting matter, fine acting and direcion (I love Emily Watson), but too many characters out of the plot (what does Murray's character mean?). However, it has been funny to see Diego Rivera, Nelson Rockfeller, Frida and the painting in Rockfeller Center again after having seen in Frida movie.
