A/B+ movie, A+ book
16 June 2006
Very very very good movie, the beginning is a bit violent for those who have not read the book... but those who have know whats going on. With Ron Howard as the director I expected this movie to be great and stay true to the book and it did. I give it an A/B+ although the book is still better in my opinion. This movie is a tale that takes the audience through Europe on a quest to find the truth. A truth about a secret society that Sophie's (Audrey Tautou)grandfather Jacques Saunière (Jean-Pierre Marielle)belonged to. Sophie finds out things she never knew about her childhood and her family. To help Sophie decipher the clues her grandfather left her after his murder in the Louve, Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) takes Sophie on a whirlwind's of a trip. They work together as a team and finally piece together all the clues.

long but good movie
14 March 2005
If you are a person who can't sit through a long movie, this may not be for you. This movie is on 2 DVD's and will take a good 3 and a half hours to watch. At the end it is worth it. But it is long and some scenes can get violent, although they are very nice battle scenes. There are some intimate parts for the people who are fond of love stories. From my point of view this is great movie and depicts the events as close to real life as they can get. I suggest it if you like history and/or the Civil War. 7 out of 10 stars... (ps. we got my dad this movie along with a biography of Roberrt E. Lee and I think if you learn more about the people you understand the movie more.)
