Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
A Must
It has been a while since I have come out of a cinema feeling different. I am always worried about any type of content that tries to tackle multi-verse or time travel because I feel like it often leads to paradoxes that disconnect you from the story. In Everything Everywhere All at Once I did not feel any of that, even though there are plenty of plot holes and inconsistencies to point out.
Part of it is, of course, the comedy aspect of the movie. But beneath this layer there's a very well told, and surprisingly consistent message of "no self". For me, it reminds me of 2 books combined, namely "Man's Search for Meaning" and "No Self, No Problem".
It is an incredibly powerful message, told in a very dorky yet incredibly effective way. I was hooked from start to finish and I feel like the movie's message will linger in my mind forever. I feel humbled and empowered at the same time.
