Incompletely done with serious lack of creativity
10 March 2013
The topic was obviously a chilling real life incident that should and could have been portrayed a thousand times better than this. The movie did have a great start but soon (as usual..!!) RGV started beating around the bush and he ends up completely missing the part where Indian army bravely confronted those terrorists and swiftly and efficiently neutralized the threat. The title should have been How The Attacks Of 26/11 Began, because RGV completely missed the end. This movie shows how incompetent RGV has become and proves that he is not bold enough to do justice to any serious real life subject. He should better try his luck on something like PHOONK 3..!!

Brilliant plot, hats off to Neeraj..
10 February 2013
I have to say that this is the best con movie Bollywood has ever produced; and yes I've seen Doom I & II. After watching Neeraj Panday's directorial debut A Wednesday, expectations for this film was already sky high and he didn't fail to meet our expectations. An excellent plot backed by great acting from the whole crew except Kajal Aggarwal. I don't want to reveal anything about the plot in fear of divulging those great twists in the process. The songs were really poor and irritating and was interrupting the general flow of the story; the romance angle was a complete failure; and though Neeraj did a great job in picturing the gritty real life scenes but in some places they felt a bit dull and lack-lustre. Without those horrible unnecessary soundtracks and romance, this movie could have been bold enough to be compared to OCEAN'S ELEVEN. But overall, this movie is no doubt quite impressive and a must watch for all con movie lovers!!!

A pointless movie with nothing racy in it
27 January 2013
Abbas-Mustan always believes in dashing looks, tough fights, engaging storytelling and nail biting climaxes. Well, it worked really well in Race I collecting 85.5 crores worldwide; unfortunately in Race II, although the casts are super cool and fight scenes are quite impressive but the movie lacks immensely on that engaging-story-part.! The movie starts with a bang and takes convoluted route with lots of twists and turns but a bit too slowly because of frequent and unnecessary songs; then in the middle the script looses its element of surprise and you get 'remake' scenes from Zorro I (sword fight where Saif magically redid the epic scene by Antonio Banderas but with 'blunted' swords!) and instead of a sequel you get an ill-advised rehash. The good 'bad-guy' Ranvir/Saif steals the 'highly protected' Shroud Of Turin with just a simple password-forgery and then escapes through the under ground drainage system (which was totally unprotected except an iron-lid); question is, why couldn't he use the same vent to enter the chamber in the first place?!! Can't blame the casts, everyone of them tried hard to live upto their expectations except Amisha Patel playing the role of Anil's extraordinaryly dumb, sex-starved secretary with her poor dressing sense and heavily innuendo-laden dialogues like "When will you pop my cherry?" In short, Race II is a wreck of a movie with pointless screenplay. Only thing racy about the movie is the sizzling Deepika Padukone.

Literally can cause headache..
14 January 2013
Sandip Ray has done it again. He has an immense potential of making a fool out of himself even with the best stories possible. He has done a similar f*cked up job with GOROSTHANE SABDHAN and almost all other 'Feluda' movies and yet again he messed up even with possibly the three most famous ghost stories in Bengali literature. Except the great performances by Paran Banerjee and Saswata Chatterjee the movie would have been an utter failure. 4/10 that I've given is just for the duo and their incredible capability to make audience glued to their seats. The first of the three stories ANATH BABUR BHOY by Satyajit Ray is my favourite ghost stories and trust me I've read a lot. I was shocked to watch a story like that being destroyed and ripped off its very eerie and intriguing ghostliness to a mere substandard plot. If anyone of you guys think that you do like the movie then I have only one request, please do read the original stories cause I'm damn sure that you will enjoy more.

A fresh take on present day Kolkata
13 January 2013
As the title aptly suggests, Maach Mishti & More is an urban saga that revolves around a typical Bengali household in Kolkata. The movie revolves around three brothers and their love life as well as portraying the household problems, love, hope, despair and family values in the background of the present day Kolkata. Mainak Bhowmick is successful in capturing the struggle between old and new ideas. The coolest person of the family is their 'dadu' (grandfather) Soumitra Chatterjee; Rony (Parambrata), has done an excellent job. Anubrata (Raju) is youngest and probably the wisest brother in the family and wants to be an actor. Everything about the movie is really good from dialogue delivery to the simple yet intriguing script except perhaps the part played by Souvik (Rahul) as the eldest of the three brothers who has just came back from America to start a restaurant of his own. Well, Souvik was trying a little bit too hard (read 'over acting') and that weird Bengali pronunciation is really irritating. Overall the movie is really good and definitely worth watching.

Hmmm.. let me say its DUBIOUS..!!
24 October 2011
Entertaining... A sci-fi set around 1942 with technology and weapons of 21st (or perhaps 23rd) century and a hero who from being a weak and fragile person transcends to be The Captain America with the help of a scientist (or perhaps we should say A Magician..!!) and fights against the villain Red Skull (literally..!! though how he got that red skull was not explained) who with the help of a CUBE (said to be left by the GODS, reason unexplained.!!) wants to destroy everything for some unexplained reason,,.. And in the end the villain was killed or better to say disintegrated (like voldemort..!!) by the CUBE, due to some unknown and unexplained Godly phenomena..!! Yet, with all this sort comings, the movie is entertaining.. Its just the beginning of another super hero movie series, may be with a better storyline the sequels of this movie will be MORE ENTERTAINING,.!!

A viral outbreak....
16 September 2011
A very realistic movie about a viral outbreak and the protocol followed to control it... casting great actors like Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law etc. the movie is rich in acting, drama and emotion..

This is neither a violent bloody zombie type movie nor a great thriller,; rather it is a realistic movie depicting the aftermath of a viral outbreak in great details,, a common virus that has undergone a paradigm shift in its genetic configuration resulting in its transformation into a highly virulent viral strain... this is very common in real life and is the main reason for viral epidemics.

The essence of this movie is its very realistic approach and minute details,...

Its not a very high paced movie but it is quite enjoyable..

A portrayal of identity crisis at its best..!!!
31 August 2011
A man wakes from a coma only to find that there is another man leading his life in his place.Even his wife denies ever seeing him...

What should he believe?? Broken pieces of his own memory that he himself is not sure enough to trust or his surroundings which in every way is proving him to be delusional???

Starting with his fragments of memory and well shot action scenes punctuated by quite drama in between, the movie takes us to the very streets of Berlin,, and u begin to empathize with Dr. Martin Harris (Liam Neeson)....

Liam Neeson has done a really good job making this movie immensely entertaining....

A fresh idea.. There is a Bureau, the agents of this bureau are adjusting our everyday activities so as to make us follow the basic PLAN that has been jot down by "The Chairman" for us..

But David Norris (Matt Damon) is not like others,, he fell for someone he was not supposed to be with according to the plan.. so every agent of the bureau came to stop him from meeting his love..

But he chose to fight for his love..

In the end he made The Chairman to change the PLAN...

Its a good movie with a good love story and intense acting...

A must see for those who can think outside the box...!!!

Story of a commoner who chose to be a hero
30 August 2011
A movie of a commoner (read "Rango, the chameleon") who wants to be an actor happens to start acting as a hero (also the sheriff) of the Dirt Town in the wild wild west...

After a great deal of luck going his way he started believing to be a hero himself only to be shattered by the deadliest villain 'Jake the rattlesnake'...

At the end Rango triumphs over all the evil with his master-plan and brings 'water' and peace to the town...

A great movie with excellent animations, well timed humors, intense chase scenes and a nail biting final showdown,.. this movie has it all... and above all with Johnny Depp (as Rango) in it, nothing couldn't have gone wrong...
