Superman Returns (2006)
Poor storyline
The story line makes no sense. Superman goes away for 5 years; meanwhile Clark Kent goes on a Hiatus for the exact same period of time. All of the sudden, they both show up at the exact same period of time and nobody is able to figure out that the two are one? Come on! This story is terrible!
Oh, and by the way, the child of Lois apparently is Cal El's son. What?!?!? This story has now become weird and silly. Oh but wait, there is more. Kryptonite doesn't seem to hurt the child of Cal-El.
Everything about this movie is wrong and bad. Ultimately, an incredible waste of talent and my time!
Last, but not least, the acting is incredibly bad. Nothing about this made me feel like this was a movie I thought was worth my attention. Yet, I suffered through the movie, albeit on my own terns, hoping that this movie would get better. I was seriously mistaken.
The reason I gave this a 2 and not a 1 was because this is a fiction film. Silliness is going to occur. But when the silliness reaches a level of ridiculous, it is time to say enough is enough.
The Silence (2019)
Fail
Without giving away information that would spoil the show... all I am left to say is that this was a real waste of time. Many actions in the movie made no sense. There were characters in the movie that took away from the real plot. Furthermore, those specific characters... everything about them made no sense. I sat in my comfortable chair agonizing about how terrible it was to even introduce such characters. The bottom line, This movie made me cringe ... It really was that bad,
Watchmen (2009)
Verdict... Meh
The movie is ok. The movie seemed very boring. The actors themselves are very good (with the exception of the character who plays Dr. Manhattan), but the movie is only as good as the writing allows. I suggest anybody considering spending time viewing this movie to find something else to watch.
Death Note (2017)
Absolutely horrendous
There really isn't much to say other than the writers and producers for this movie dumbed the anime story story way down. This story is for somebody in grade school; and it is way too dumbed down for anybody over 15 to want to watch it... and yet it is rated TV-MA. The anime was fantastic; this movie is terrible. I do not recommend ANYBODY to watch this.
Ozark (2017)
Concept was good; poorly executed series
I watched grudgingly three episodes of this series in the hopes that it would turn around. The concept of the story, I thought, was intriguing. The execution and the acting fell apart quickly. The twists and turns that the series produced fell flat. I was left with disappointment. I certainly think this series had someplace it could go. I am going to conclude that this is not worth watching a single episode; please do not waste your time on this show.
Star Trek (2009)
Stop J/J., Roberto Orci, and Alex Kurtzman. Please... just stop
No spoilers here. I just want to say that this movie is, to put it nicely, horrendous. I don't really have much to say other than it is a complete waste of time. For me, this was written for a six to twelve year old audience. However, due to the level of violence, it has been rated outside of the audience I think this is aimed at. A lot of things were coincidental... unreal, and just plain silly. The writers need to work towards a much more mature and much more intelligent audience. This was very disappointing for me.
Peter Rabbit (2018)
Ventured too far from the original books. Lost touch with true audience.
Peter Rabbit is meant for an audience of 3 to 8 year old children. This movie is not for kids under 12. This is a true shame because both my kids watch Peter Rabbit on TV. The TV show fits their age group. This movie absolutely does not. I don't want to give out too much....b ut even the first scene is too much for chidren under eight. Parents are left with "how am I supposed to tell my children what just happened?" Nick Park and writers assocaited with this movie, you made a poor choice regarding the direction this film took.
Inside Out (2015)
Fantastic is an understatement
This is one of the best films ever created, in my opinion. I have nothing but praise for this film. It pulls on several emotions. The humor is clean and witty. There is a lot of intelligence in the development of the story. Great job.
9-1-1 (2018)
Started off good... butflopped quickly.
I had high hopes for this show. There's some good actors in this series, so naturally one would think a series of this magnitude is bound to be great. However, the story just does not reflect well the life of first responders. This is simply just anothersoap opera series with ridiculous emergency situations.
A Christmas Carol (2009)
Way over the top
I will admit, the animation is amazing. The story follows the original story line; however, this movie take a very dark path to tell the story of Scrooge. Additionally, it has a LOT of "story filler" to pass the time. Plain and simple, I got bored. As a Christmas story, I can't see myself advertising this to my children to watch. It further perplexes me that this is a Disney film; I can't believe Disney would sign off on a film that is not necessarily for children. This is very bothersome!
Iron Fist (2017)
Better than some, worse than others
The acting is better than some of the other hero shows that I have viewed. I am thankful that this is not as much of a teeny-bopper show like some other similar shows currently aired. I like that the concept does an OK job of following the comic. I like the story; I think there is a LOT of potential there. However, the reason I rated this at 6 is that there is a real level of cheesiness. The martial arts, at least I can tell, is very apparent that it is faked. There are a lot of moves that are just absolutely silly. The angle of the camera could be better; the movements could have a lot more fluid and the movements could be LOT better synchronized. Simply put, I find that the martial arts choreographing is weak. The bottom line - this show as a whole could be rendered much better.
Atlantic Rim (2013)
What a flop
I watched this on Netflix as part of my subscription (so I did not pay any more money than I normally would for watching another movie), so the only thing lost was the time I spent watching this movie. I should have spent the time pulling my own teeth... it would have been less painful! All I can say is whatever you do, stay clear of this movie. If you can bear to continue watching this film after 10 minutes, I would be surprised. The acting is the worst I have ever seen! What makes me sad is that the plot of the story is strong. The folks who made this movie could have done a great job. Look at the counterpart to this movie (not going to name the other movie title here)... the creators did a fantastic job with the same basic plot! The bottom line is that this particular movie is a disaster. The CGI is horrible (as if this were a computer project for a junior high school).
The Monkey's Paw (2013)
Disappointing
The bottom line: don't waste your time. This should not be called "The Monkey's Paw." This has nothing to do with the original story. I am so very disappointed! I was hoping that the story was brought to the big screen. I could not be any more wrong. I highly suggest for viewers who like the original story NOT to view the movie. However, if you have never read the original story or do not like the original story, watch the movie an decide for yourself how bad the movie REALLY is. Truly, it id REALLY bad. If you decide to waste your time with this movie, I hope you have the chance to do something else constructive in parallel. I hope somebody decides to remake this movie the way it is supposed to be.
