Surya: A gem in Tamil Cinema
12 April 2011
This movie is definitely a justified triumph for Surya and Gautham Menon. The whole movie doesn't drag AT ALL except A BIT in the last. Sameera looks really pretty with the work of the make up artists. The Camera Men also have worked extremely hard and hats off to Aascar films for producing this film. But the main part of the cast and crew who steal the show Surya and Gautham Menon and Harris Jayaraj whose melodies and rock are worth their weight in Gold. The songs, Adiyae Kolluthae and Nenjukkul Peidhidhum are worth listening a hundred times a day and so are Mundhinam and Oh! Shanti. Ana Mene and Ava Enna pictured after Surya loses his love are also excellently made except the background which could have been adjusted. Surya looks so smart in the army uniform and classy too! But Divya Spandana is not pretty at all but I guess this is her best...Other than that, the movie is worth 10 on 10 as a whole........Cheers to everyone!

Excellent film with a few drawbacks
8 April 2011
This was a film which was worth a watch as Vijay has deviated from his masala style and Genelia has become a gem in Tamil Cinema. The plot is good and Vadivel's comedy is worth a watch especially the parts where he tries to impress Genelia. Bipasha Basu has not acted properly and this could place her at a low point on Kollywood. Another drawback is Santhanam's acting and looks. He would have looked better without that huge mustache and he is supposed to be a comedian which he is not in this movie. The climax was not well written and there are a few more drawbacks which the director and producer could have adjusted to make the film exceptionable.

A few drawbacks but better than Vijay's previous two films
8 April 2011
This movie was good and though it has not deviated from the masala style, Vijay has acted well enough to make it entertaining. The comedy in the first half, especially the one between Vijay and Anushka is good. If Vivek or Vadivelu had been inserted, it would have been more entertaining. Salim Ghouse has acted well enough to be a typical Villain in a Vijay film. But the few drawbacks are there which could have been taken care of. The villain doesn't over react or get tensed when he is facing even his son's death! Also, Anushka's acting is typical Telugu style which spoils the movie. The whole movie was made like a Telugu one, which should have been changed.
