I saw this film at the Fairfax Documentary Film Festival. I liked the fact that this is about music that isn't at the top of the charts. It shows that mainstream pop music isn't the only driving force with music lovers in America today. I found the movie quite interesting and entertaining. I was surprised and informed to see how creatively unique this genre of music came into being.
It shows how current day Roots Musicians weave their lives with the musical history that came before them and how they are continuing to create the music. I was impressed with the musical talent and interviews. I walked away from this film feeling enlightened and proud of my musical heritage as an American. I would recommend all music lovers to see this film. This documentary has heart!
