Perry Mason: Chapter Six (2020)
A 'new' Perry Mason
I loved the Perry Mason show (1957-1966), watched it every week. I bought and read some of the books, and loved every one. I would love to own them all. Then I bought copies of it on DVDs when they came out and watched them, and loved seeing all of the characters again.
This series is not *that* Perry Mason, and I am just fine with the changes. In my mind, it is taking place on an alternate Earth, so it doesn't have to follow any previous stories. Since it is taking place years before the TV show with Raymond Burr, this Perry has years to grow into *that* man. And I will love every episode. After all, I signed up for HBO Max just to be able to see it.
Interceptor (2022)
Nice to see a strong woman lead
My main problem with the movie is that if Alexander's plan works, and all the nukes reach the US and are detonated, there would BE no "America" for him to rebuild. The nuclear fallout, the radioactive dust and ash, from those bombs would ruin the whole country. And Europe would also suffer. Go out and read about the Marshall Islands - we tested 67 nuclear bombs there.
"In the United States' current nuclear arsenal, the most powerful bomb is the B83, which has a maximum yield of 1.2 megatons, making it 60 times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Nagasaki, Japan, in 1945." I can't imagine those Russian bombs are much less powerful. I guess he thinks he'll be a hero in Russia and go there? LOL.
Downton Abbey: Episode #6.2 (2015)
Defending Anna
Yes, there are difficult scenes with Anna weeping over her inability to maintain a pregnancy, but they are sincere. It is a problem many women have had, and it is a source of grief for them. At the time of this episode there wasn't as much medical help available, certainly not to those in the servant class. Anna IS a strong character, - though she is grieving she still does her work and thinks of Mr. Bates and his feelings.
