Behind Her Eyes (2021)
Same old astral traveling/ teleportation nonsense, terrible ending
I can't believe I wasted a day of my life to watch this. The show is engaging, but I was disappointed from the moment all the metaphysical astral BS started.
Terrible ending, what was even the point?
Toy Boy (2019)
I loved most of the show but hated the end
I found the plot very engaging and there was a strong feminist emphasis on it in my opinion.
It emphasizes on the supportive and loving relatioship among the 5 male strippers, showing more of their soft and emotional side which you don't see a lot in shows.
On the other hand, I found all female characters empowering in their own way-even the evil ones. Women shown as more competent than their male colleagues in typically male dominated jobs. I liked that even though there were a lot of adult scenes, nudity wasn't purposefully sexualized. I also liked that sexual relationships were all showing healthy consent.
It portrays a lot of the ups and downs of this type of job, as well as the stigma around. it, which I liked. But it wasn't sugar-coated.
It featured a gay (or bisexual) mute character who used sign language and I loved the love story that was developed between him and another guy who had very bad trauma and mental illness. I wish I had seen more of them together.
Now... Hated, HATED the ending. They kill the female protagonist, which was really sad, as she was a strong female character. I also found that the never ending agony of the protagonist was exhausting. How many more bad things were going to happen to him, seriously????
Personally I would not watch a 2nd season, just because they killed the female character.
Historia de un crimen: La búsqueda (2020)
They made a mockery out of a child's death
Having watched the two previous mini series of Crime Diaries, which were excellent, I expected something really good. Unfortunately the ridiculous, funny music ruins the entire show. The chatacters and interractions are all made purposely funny, which takes away the main topic of these series which is a real crime involving a little child. For the first episodes, the series do not even focus on the investigation after the girl's death but on the characters' relationships in a comedic way. Not good, which was a disappointment.
