Ättestupan (1997)
A "wurmlandish" masterpiece
Despite this is a amateur-movie, craftsmanship and a great deal of devotion, from everybody involved in the production, permeates the entire picture. If you listen closely to the dialog, you may be in to some surprises - perhaps a happy sigh of recognition when the iconic radio voice of Konrad Larsson is embodied in the character of Deckar-Dick. This is a "must see" for all fans of amateur-art, and brilliant closing will satisfy most of you. Prepare yourself for tears, goosebumps and a great portion of laughter when viewing this "cultish" film-treasure from the deep, inner woods of Wurmland. There are some problems when commenting the original music score, but that's just a bump in space. The overall rating is at the highest level of respect. 10 out of 10! Thank you all for a charming piece of art..
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
This is it!!
If the first Star Wars (1977) was groundbreaking, this one is breathtaking! According to me at least - the best picture in film history! A culminated crown-jewel after a decade of excellent drama productions, such as The Godfather I & II, one flew over the cuckoo's nest etc, etc. Everything is there.. skillful focus on the character-arch.. a relaxed and charming love story.. fantastic action and heroism.. and above all- George Lucas story! What is going on inside that man.. "A modern age Genius". How does he come up with all that weird but super-cool stuff! And John Williams music..!! The themes and their crafted development to the story context.. wow.. Why he didn't get the academy award, still remains one of the biggest mysteries to me, up to this day.. If you find yourself crying, getting goosebumps and laughing at the same time when viewing this piece, don't worry- You're not alone...The force is strong with this one!!
Star Wars (1977)
Lucas and Williams in perfect harmony!!
This is one of the most groundbreaking movies in film history, I believe. Two hours of non-stop entertainment in the classical style of the 40's, but reinvented in a way I believe no one could predict at the time it was released (1977). Amazing carachterarch, special-effects, story, mythological concept, music, sound-effects etc, etc. The creativeness and technical craftsmanship on this piece of art is astonishing. As a pianist, composer and teacher of music I can only salute maestro John Williams in "the-original-music-score-par-excellence"!! Together with the imaginative story-telling etc,etc of Mr.Lucas, Williams and a whole crew- at the peak of their powers- completed this epic adventure, heavily awarded and with a brilliant closing. You must not miss this one!!.. Watch out, the next one is even better, I think!;)
