Pane e cioccolata (1974)
Inspirational film
The most touching moment of this film was when the late and great Nino Manfredi colours his hair blonde to assimilate being a German whilst watching the historic Italia 4 -Germania 3 match. Of course he can't contain himself when the azzurri come out on top in extra time. With the great Friulian goalkeeper Dino Zoff who kept going until 1982 when Italia were once triumphant over the team from Deutschland.
This phenomenon of pretending to belong to a culture is quite common in South Australia. People with the most remote Italian roots masquerade in the clothing of Italian football teams and go around offending first generation Italians. In particular those of the Istrian refugee heritage. I've coined this phenomenon the Van Brussel effect

Neighbours (1985)
End Of Another Season *spoiler for British viewers*
The 20th season of Australia's longest running soap went to air last night. In typical cliffhanger action we were left with the characters' main gathering place, Lassiter's,ablaze. In what has to be the biggest season-ending twist in Neighbors history, it is discovered the culprit is none other than original Ramsay Street Resident, Paul Robinson. (Stefan Dennis)
Neighbors continues to be a solid source for guilty pleasure on Australian television. Sure,it can be argued that some of the story lines aren't realistic, the daily trials and tribulations of Ramsay Street's denizens, continues to entertain. It sure beats the alternative boring Current Affairs shows on rival networks in that timeslot.
The daily happenings of Australia's most famous cul de sac will continue to fill Australian and British television screens for another few years yet.
Temptation (2003)
Colin Cooks up a storm
Temptation tells the story of restaurant owner Robert Francobelli (Colin Friels) and five young aspiring chefs ,including his son ,and an indian who is seeking residency in Australia.
Francobelli has a prejudice against Indians and the use of chili peppers in his cooking so when he confronts the indian chef sparks begin to fly. The film is at a good pace with Colin Friels the star performer but the end leaves alot to be desired. It premiered on Australian television Sunday 31 August 2003
Danny Deckchair (2003)
Daggy Deckchair
This movie is just plain dumb. It is too cute for it's own good and the idea falls flat after the opening credits. Justine Clarke is particularly uninspiring as the girlfriend. I don't see any chemistry between her and the lead character which might have saved this turkey.
Johnny Bravo (1997)
Oh yeah.. Special!
Johnny Bravo is the most hilarious short cartoon of the modern era. His stupidity in situations is highly entertaining and seeing him make countless unsuccessful encounters with women splits my sides. Jeff Bennett does a great voice for the character and the supporting cast of characters works well.
