Oldboy (2013)
Such an awful mistake is to Americanize an far east production
I don't know where to start; I have never watched the Korean version, but yet it sounds very far eastern movie, unless with a weak acting skills or, a well faked movie version. In some scenes, I would have preferred it to be a comedy action movie rather than a so called drama; You sure knew which scene I mean, the one when Joe beaten around 20 men while he couldn't beat 2 in the next scene. This is just an example. I would have accepted this if it is really done by a Korean actor. at least the expressions might have sounds real. I didn't like the fact that everything is happening in America. If you want to remake something, make sure it is better or at least hugely different, not simply worse. To end this; only two things sound good in the movie: 1- Haeng-Bok 2- when Adrian said: People believe whatever they see on television.
respect to all. Looking forward for more efforts.
Last Night (2010)
May the small details in life never be forgotten!
The most important thing in life is to put yourself in the other's shoe and sense the consequences before you give yourself back into a love of a past. That's what Joanna did, and that's what Alex would never understand, especially that he lives unhappily. And that's what someone like Michael would never understand because he is living happily. Which puts a woman (like Joanna) in first place when it comes to being able to think of all the choices she has; whether to be with someone, to give yourself to someone physically, to open yourself emotionally, and how to survive all three in a certain moment.
One sentence in the movie wasn't true, "I love him, and I love you too, and I love being able to tell you the truth". If Joana would loved one of them even 1% more than the other, she wouldn't call the other "love". I cannot get that she is in love with them both, she is with Alex!
Excellent Movie!
Mutluluk (2007)
Different society strata are in need for each others.
Was my pleasure to attend this movie screening at the Turkish embassy in Riyadh, May 24th.
I have watched so many Turkish movies through the past few years, the most i was attracted to is the music within the films and its integrity within the scenes/characters, that what makes Turkish movies different from others.
But when I have to speak about cultural Turkish movies, or mostly the ones speaking about traditions, i have never been to "Mutluluk", I like it because, it was only focusing about this aspect, and how we learn to come over them with time, how different lyres of society are in need for each others no matter how big differences they are living.
Mutluluk. unlike other movies that shed light on traditions, culture, mixed with internal politics, i.e; Baska Semtin Cocuklari, or Gunesi Gordum. I cant deny that those were examples of great Turkish movies, but speaking of yesterday's occasion, it was a smart choice, perfect for the current period of time, away from politics, focusing only on what it should!
