I'm Not Jesus Mommy (2010)
Not as bad as the reviews portray
Aside from some of the errors already pointed out (like about the DNA, cloning process, red blood cells...etc), I thought the movie was overall pretty decent.
The acting was OK, and even though our lovely lead/executive producer was a bit "overweight" by Hollywood standards, I thought it gave it a more "real" effect.
This is one of those movies where I wish they had explained things a little better so it would make sense because this isn't the kind of film that I'll want to watch again to get all the Jesus references.
The little boy David, portrayed by Rocko Hale was done very well. I have a thing against child actors who cannot act but he did a very good job. I do wonder who's son he is or who he's connected to get a lead role.
The ending had me questioning if he was good or evil but since it has since been re-released under the title "Devil's Angel", I guess I have my answer.
I say watch it if you want some cheesy B style scary movie thrills! Not as good as Insideous but not as bad as what these reviews might make you think!
Adventures of Bailey: Christmas Hero (2012)
Cute Story if you can get past the terrible acting
Bought this because my 3 year old loves the live animal children's movies. The overall story is cute enough but only if you can stomach the terrible, forced acting by these 'actors'. My son was easily bored when it came to the human only scenes. The adults with their rigid, unnatural dialog and lack of chemistry all the way down to the little girl with the lisp, who was forced, awkward, unenjoyable and who's character made no sense.
The character of Truman was well played although the actor Trey Bumpass seemed bored half the time, his chemistry with Bailey was very sweet and enjoyable to watch. I would love to see him in something more challenging, he seems to have the natural talent ability and looks for TV and film. If it weren't for him saving the film, I'd consider it a massive flop and whoever was in charge of casting should be fired.
Overall, I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this DVD. I should have waited for Santa Paws 2 because at least there, the acting isn't forced. It makes me wonder if this was a production put one of those unqualified acting schools that gives work to their actors only if they pay for involvement.
But if you are able to see past forced, terrible acting, then by all means buy it.
Barbie: A Perfect Christmas (2011)
Disappointing
The storyline and message is passable but the voice acting leaves much to be desired and the singing is TERRIBLE. I understand that they wanted Barbie to be more "modern" so they had a casting change from the original woman who voiced Barbie. But if she is going to sing she should still have a gorgeous, stunning voice. The singing voice of Barbie (and every other character) is disappointing. The songs had so much potential but I can barely stand listening to these average voices. Especially considering the singing voice Barbie used to have (Kelly Sheridan). What a let down, I hope the producers take note. Barbie is supposed to be what everyone else deems as the perfect person...good at everything...except apparently singing. Sure, her voice is more raspy and "modern" now but being modern doesn't mean you need to sing like an amateur. And what's with the child's voice? She is what, 6 or 7? Why isn't a child of that age portraying her? The animation has also gone downhill since A Mermaid Tale and Fashion Fairy Tale. I hope this is a one time flub and Mermaid Tale 2 will bring back the awesomeness of the other films. And please, if she's going to do another film where she is singing, BRING BACK KELLY SHERIDAN. What you have done to Barbie is not awesome, cool, trendy or modern. You are making her boring, average, shallow and untalented.
