Isn't it grand? Isn't it great?

"You can like the life you're living, you can live the life you like"

I'm usually not a big fan of musicals, but this movie is a rare exception. I like that each song is its own cabaret performance, unlike other musicals where there's no dialog - just nonstop singing.

I love this time period, acting/singing/dancing is top tier, Queen Latifah stole the show, Catherine Zeta-Jones deserved all the awards, Lucy Liu's cameo was very much appreciated. One of my favorite/comfort movies.

Personal favorite performances/songs: "Funny Honey", "When You're Good To Mama", "Cell Block Tango", "Roxie" and "Nowadays (Roxie)"

Favorite Disney Live-Action Remake
4 September 2020
Heart-warming story, beautiful visuals, nice and sympathetic actors/characters. Charming, subtle moments followed by incredible choreography and action. Felt very respectul and appropriate to the region, culture and history. This is not just a live-action remake, this is a MOVIE. Loyal, Brave & True. 8/10

An extremely charming feel-good movie about a small harbour community. Full of hope, kind characters, subtle comedic moments and little white lies. 9/10

The Best of The Best
31 January 2018
S1 - Powerful. Nicole Kidman deserves all the praise and awards she's getting. That "final moment" of Ep.7 - that the whole season was leading up to - left me breathless! Great acting, great dialogue, beautiful to look at. Can't wait for season 2. (Jan. 2018)

S2 - Still one of the best series ever. The ladies keep bringing their A'Game, Laura Dern steals the show, and Miss Meryl (Mary Louise) is simply a cherry on top. (Jul. 2019)
