Existential horror
24 October 2022
I feel the people giving bad reviews, watched this series with wrong expectations, expecting it to be another horror series.

The "horror" of this series is how true it rings, and how close it hits to home.

This series explores death and mortality, and our relation to it, in a very genuine and honest way. It really pulls on your heart strings, thanks to the excellent acting. You get a glimpse in to their every day lives, and even though they are terminally ill, it doesn't stop them from living in the moment. That being said, death is never far away, and you're reminded that at any time another chair might be empty and The Midnight Club.

Not quite there
2 July 2022
There's a lot of funny moments in this series (which easily could have been a movie, given the short length of the episodes), and I see a lot of Mr. Bean in the acting here. However, I feel it would be much better if they simply had Mr. Bean be the main character. That character is perfect for this role. But what we ended up with is kind of like Mr. Bean, but not quite. All in all though, not a bad series.

No catharsis

Warning: Spoilers
A lesson in blind obedience and submission. Why aren't anyone angry about the truly unjustful murders? Why aren't anyone willing to pick up the fight, and try to make a difference? I was waiting the entire series for one such moment, but it never came. The best they could do was to deny DNT of being right.

Waste of time
23 May 2021
This movie is way longer than it could have been, and it feels drawn out at times. I found myself wanting to skip ahead several times during this movie. One could easily cut out an hour of the movie, without hurting the story. When it comes to the story, the premise was promising, but completely ruined, both directly and inderectly, by the awful decisions of one single character.

I gave up watching the moment I realised they all were going to speak in English.

Good plot
5 February 2020
The movie has a good plot and story, and overall quite entertaining. However, I think the execution is pretty messy. I also feel the score is poorly written, and it often takes up too much place. For example, there is one, suspenseful scene, where the score kind of ruins the suspense. I also found it annoying that one of the main themes bore a stark resemblance to the "Shire theme" from Lord of The Rings.

Nonchalant animal cruelty

I found this movie quite boring. After only 50 minutes had passed, it felt like at least 2 hours had passed. But my biggest issue with this film, is how people can be all pious, yet still not raise an eyebrow of rows of dogs in small cages.

People need to face the truth
27 November 2019
I think it was a very good series, albeit a little slow. As for the "preachyness", if you're going to make a realistic series about Mars colonisation, climate change and corporate greed are topics that are unavoidable. Climate change is not "left wing", it's just a fact. In fact, far too many movies and TV shows tip-toe around the issue, so it's refreshing someone actually having the balls to address the issue. And the politicised science usually are the one trying to disprove man-made climate change, not the other way around. The only thing that bugged me about the show, was the use of lights inside the helmets, which would impair their vision because of all the reflection. But it seems the norm for most Hollywood movies, so I guess it's forgivable. But all in all a good watch, unless you're too sensitive about the reality of climate change.

Disappointing
20 September 2019
I had great expectations for this movie, as I've heard a great deal about it since I digged into the Netflix prequel, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I can admire the great craftsmanship, but the story, in my view, is underdeveloped. I think there could have been much more depth to this story and this universe, than there are. The storytelling feels kind of lazy, and predictable. First A happens, then B, before ending on C. I guess my perception would've been quite different if I watched the movie first, or if I watched it as a child.

Good atmosphere
11 May 2019
It's an alright mystery/sci-fi movie. I think all the 1 star review are a bit too harsh. Glad I didn't check here first, or I might not have been able to enjoy the movie as much as I did. That being said, there are better movies out there, but as the title says, it has a lot of atmosphere, and beautiful scenery. Though I would say the music at times get too much in the way.

Not that bad
7 May 2019
I don't get the hate for this episode. So, it isn't the greatest episode, but all in all, a quite decent "filler". As for the "plot holes", they are only "plot holes" if you haven't been paying attention. Another thing that it is important to notice, is that the characters in this show, don't have the same overview as the viewer. They make their decisions based on what information THEY have.

Too much music
7 August 2018
This could have been a very good movie. The plot is good and the acting is good, but being bombarded by "emotional" music (some even with lyrics) again and again and again, really cancels out the emotion it was supposed to evoke (in me at least).
