Julia (2022)
The actress sounds more like Hyacinth Bucket than Julia Child
I just can't stop thinking I'm watching some lost episodes of "Keeping up appearances". The actress just doesn't quite capture Julia very well. Not that she isn't a good actress but she just doesn't play this character right.
Debris (2021)
Like "Manifest" without the 'love to hate' elements
Bland family friendly network sci-fi drama. Lot of the same vibes as "manifest". Manifest however has way more in terms of addictingly annoying elements where you tune in just to be irritated by the ridiculousness.
New Day New Chef (2020)
Seems like part of a movie
From The host's Nancy Grace style overly forceful speech to some odd and uncomfortable bits, the whole thing seemed like it was a fake tv show inside of a b-movie. I kept feeling something else was going t happen and put this all in a different context. But no, it is a serious attempt at a vegan cooking show - which I am totally down for, but there just is something about every bit of this production that just feels a bit off.
B Positive (2020)
Middleditch's strange beard makes this even more unwatchable
Ok as if bad characters and a bad story weren't awful enough you get Thomas Middleditch. In the history of all history no one has ever been worse equipped to grow facial hair. Looking at him with that scraggly mess on his face while trying to to portray a poorly written sitcom character make it almost impossible to hold down the last meal one has eaten. After a reprieve from seeing him in annoying cel phone commercials he is back in this simply awful sitcom that is not worth anyone's time!
Falling Skies (2011)
Really bad and cheesy
This could have been a great sci-fi show but got too wrapped up in feel good family friendly sentiment.
Blood Quantum (2019)
Confusing and boring
They really needed to decide with this movie if it was meant to be a social commentary piece or al all out horror movie instead of trying to do both and failing miserably. The film plods along leaving the viewer confused and unengaged. If they are trying to say something they need to make you care which they don't. This film is a huge waste of time.
The Zombie Apocalypse: The Dead Have Risen (2019)
Too much eyeliner!
It is sort of cringey. Looks like a zombie series produced by Glamor Shots at the mall. There was obviously some care in selection of lighting camera and editing software but then just a total give up on all of facets. They really should just give up on this.
Into the Void (2019)
Clearly Canadian
Yeah I get that it is supposed to be a zombie movie with a heart. And I'm not dissing Canadian productions, I actually do enjoy the niceness in a lot of Canadian shows and movies but in this film it just didn't seem to work and proved to keep this a bit dull, slow, and weird. When seeing what it was I did have high hopes, but a better Canadian zombie love story would be The Returned with Emily Hampshire.
In Search of... (2018)
No redeeming factors in this at all
An extremely disappointing revival of the original. Zachary Quinto's attempt at Leonard Nemoy delivery seems stunted and devoid of any authenticity. Much of the "insightful" demonstrations and testimonies come off as trite and/or cartoonish. The episode on AI had a ridiculous portion at a sex doll manufacturer attempting to ignore the fact that the dolls were not being made for any legit AI uses but rather for people to use to have sex with.
This show is beyond bad!
The Zombie Apocalypse (2013)
Bad acting, lot of eyeliner but pretty well put together for low budget
Ok the main actor, writer, director needs to cut it out with the eyeliner and not add the audio is post production. All the actors need some lessons. All that being said the whole thing isn't too bad for something super low budget obviously banking more on some nifty software to give it good looking credits and decent visual effects throughout.
Black Mirror: Smithereens (2019)
We got it - don't text and drive , this episode was a waste!
Black Mirror in the beginning was great. There was always some kind of technology a little off the horizon featured. The stories were haunting. This episode was just boring and predictable, nothing novel or unexpected, no vision of some new technology that will bring new challenges to human life.
The Twilight Zone (2019)
What the problem really is...
Is not the PC slant on the stories which understandably might still upset some people. The problem is these episodes are just not well done, they drag on, they really have nothing else going on to bring you along the journey of these stories updated for the times.
The original Twilight Zone was eerie and creepy while still giving some sort of morale lesson through it all, these new episodes are just dry, boring and completely waste the potential to get the updates to the moral lessons across because they are too mired in trying to do so.
Now Apocalypse (2019)
Groundbreaking.......for 1996
Not even the sex can keep this series from being boring. It is Gregg Araki rehashing everything he has already done. ZERO originality.
Yes he has a distinctive and visually interesting style, but he has done everything in this series before multiple times and while it was something to be seen and talked about in the 90s, it is just sort of tired and recycled now.
If someone has never seen anything he has done before this may be marginally more of an interesting series but really it just seems like the work of someone who instead of maturing and getting deeper and better at their craft is just reaching back to stuff from the beginning of their career desperately trying to hold on to the breath of youth and vigor.
Foodie (2012)
Soooooooooo bad
Horribly acted, super predictable, just pure awful. How this got ANY kind of awards is beyond me. It would be bad for a student film.
Manifest (2018)
Not a single character is likeable and it is soooooo bad but I still keep watching
The show sort of hooks you into watching with the hopes that it will get good/better in the next episode.
The acting in this show is across the board BAD! I honestly can say I don't feel invested or care for any of the characters - down to the little kid with cancer.
The story isn't too hot either.
The concept could really make for a great show but it just seems like a group of bumbling idiots plodding through a huge conspiracy/possibly supernatural situation but then total ho-him boring life stuff at the same time.
How in the heck did this land up on NBC? Seems totally like something that would be on syfy for one season and fade away. Yet somehow people are loving it. I just don't get it!

Rupture (2016)
Interesting premise that falls totally flat
This could have been a pretty good movie. But somehow it just never gets around to hooking you into it. I had never really thought about it before but it may very well in this case have to do with noomi rapace. I've seen her in a number of different movies but it was finally in this one something odd I realized has been there all along, there is just something about her that makes you not really care or feel invested in her characters. The movie had a lot of potential for its creepy vibe and off kilter scenery but ultimately the characters just never gelled.
The Domestics (2018)
Had potential but....
I see what they were going for here but somehow it falls completely flat. It all looks like it could be a gory fun ride with suspense and tension, but I just found myself constantly thinking, "ok how much longer til it's done?" I really wanted this to like this and it seemed like it had all the ingredients for that to happen but in the end it just seemed to be about an awkward bad marriage that somehow overshadowed everything else that was going on. Unless I was totally wrong and this film was supposed to be about flat one dimensional dysfunctional relationships.
Collision Earth (2011)
Wonderfully horrible yet sort of entertains
This is another one of those horrible SyFy movies with just over the top cheesy acting to top off already crazy stories that you sort of enjoy, but for absolutely the wrong reasons! I found myself watching this movie and cheering on all the cataclysmic events that occur......hoping that all the annoying characters would meet their demise and fail to save the Earth. Am very disappointed to say (lil bit of a spoiler) that most of the characters and Earth survive...but hey, ya always gotta have hope that one day SyFy will catch onto how annoying their characters and situations are and actually do something right by showing them meet their spectacularly over the top end and let down the citizens of Earth who will all be completely and totally annihilated within moments of realizing that those weren't really any kind of heroes up there in space, just a bunch of goofs! Doesn't that sounds like a GREAT ending to some of their movies?????
2012: Ice Age (2011)
This is the first movie that I was hoping the protagonists died in
This was just beyond belief. Bad actors in badly written characters. Every time there was an impending disaster I was hoping that one of the main family member characters was going to get impaled by a huge shard of ice or freeze to death instantly. Not to mention the son, Nelson and his seemingly autistic behavior. Oh - and the father who never paid attention to anything and landed up getting everyone in more danger. I really enjoy "bad" films, but this doesn't even live up to a "bad" film classification. When a film has you hating its main characters, well then something really has gone awry. Glad I didn't have to pay anything to see it!
