Super Mario Bros. (1993)
It's sincere, charming and a good time
Mario is a supportive, loving brother. Luigi is pure and sweet, and has a genuinely endearing relationship with Daisy. Daisy is a cool paleontologist who doesn't take crap from nobody, be they mob-bosses or interdimensional tyrants. face.
Even though the cast had a miserable time behind the scenes, it doesn't show at all. The chemistry between the Mario brothers is especially good.
It's a simple, fun film that doesn't waste time and would never be made today.
Doris & Mary-Anne Are Breaking Out of Prison (2015)
Short and sweet!
A charming series of short animations starring two characters in a women's prison. It's funny, sweet and sometimes nuts.
The dialogue and performance(s) are what really sell it, but the quaint art-style and animation are nothing to sneeze at either.
Free fun for (pretty much) all ages, see it if you haven't already!
Drawn Together (2004)
Do people not understand?
Every episode kills me laughing. I adore every single characters unique, colorful and immeasurably disturbed personality and the voice acting is incredible enough to actually make me find myself thinking of the voices as belonging to the characters themselves and not the actors.
I have no idea why this show doesn't have a way, way higher rating but I'll be sure to share this show with everyone I know can appreciate cruel and creative humor.
For you who's thinking about watching this show: there's bound to be at least two characters you'll find yourself loving, don't pass up that chance!
The Avengers (2012)
This. Is. Entertainment!
If you were into comic-books/manga as a kid or, like me, still are: You remember that feel you got/get when your favorite character does something, just, incredibly awesome, like knocking the villains block off?
That feeling is what this movie is built upon. Seeing your favorite heroes just doing awesome stuff upon awesome stuff, over and over again. The acting's great, the effects and feel you get when watching the movie in a theater is close to unmatched.
This movie does just about every kick-ass thing, and more. However: this movie is no Watchmen and no Dark Knight, it doesn't establish a dark feeling and it's far from deep storytelling and character-development. It is all about capturing our inner 12-year old fanheart and bringing them to light for a while.
Watch it, enjoy it.
