Father Ted (1995–1998)
2/10
Infantile
21 March 2021
I am not British, but I have been a huge fan of BBC comedies and especially the absolutely brilliant TV series the name of Graham Linehan is usually associated with. "Black Books", "The IT Crowd" and most recently "Count Arthur Strong" are on top of my list.

Although "Father Ted" is the earlier bird chronologically, I've never seen it and have been deliberately delaying to do so, in order to keep it for later and enjoy it last. You know, as something really good or sweet, or both...

As I result I watched it for the first time now, in 2021. And I didn't like it one bit. I mean, it's absolute dribble. It looks like something made by a 3 year old for other 3 year olds. You can't be serious with that ridiculous rating, people!

There are quite a few infantile moments in all comedy shows, there's no denying that. But this... this is almost entirely infantile. It somehow managed to squeeze a laugh or two during the whole torture, hence the two stars, but that's all.

Absolutely awful experience.

The Mandalorian: Chapter 12: The Siege (2020)

Wow! Just wow...

Finally Star Wars is back! And went a step further. A real feast for the eyes and senses this episode is. Great job! As for the comment about stormtrooper's training - who cares?! I haven't been feeling so starwarsie since the premiere of the original trilogy. What a wonderful surprise.

Oh My God, This Show is Gorgeous!
12 December 2019
That's right, I've stumbled upon it in 2019. And I watched it 3 times in a row. I'm not gonna tell you what I liked so much about it, to make me watch it over and over again (and I do have HBO, Netflix and so forth in a click away). It's for my personal enjoyment anyway.

But I'm gonna tell you what I do hate about it. I hate the fact that it was canceled way too early, which cannot be said about most of the other successful sitcoms.

I believe that show had an enormous potential, which was not exploited even nearly enough, and it is more than obvious that some powerful figure behind the scenes unplugged/killed it before its time. I wonder why...

Anyway... Thank you Tom, Dick, Harry and Sally for the great fun. You have a special place in my heart.

The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019)
8/10
Not a big bang, but bang enough

It's the new "Friends" alright. Not less cheesy, but at times even funnier. I'm from the generation that grew up with "Friends", but I would vote for the millennials. I feel a bit nostalgic for the 1980's sometimes, but I also understand and appreciate the jokes from the "new kids in town". It's pure fun, no more, no less. It has its flaws, but it has its wits too. It's a medicine for foul moods, depression, and loneliness. And as such, I believe it deserves at least 8 out of 10.

Just Add Magic (2015–2019)

Charming and heart warming.

If anyone would have told me I would get hooked on after a cheesy, American, "family" TV show, I would have been laughing my head off. Well, I started watching this one in order to proofread the Bulgarian subtitles on the 1-st episode. After I finished it, I simply forgot my original task and continued watching, until the whole 1st season was gone.

It's quite childish and cheesy, no doubt, but the girls are so cute and charming, one simply cannot resist them. Not to mention the flawless acting of all the members of the cast.

Great watch for any child, no matter the age. :)

Sing Street (2016)

Beautiful, heartwarming experience

The movie somehow illuminates in the darkness surrounding the 7th art nowadays. Drawing a simple, yet powerful fable, using bold and at times even aggressive strokes, it creates a convincing story which will certainly affect most of the viewers.

All the actors are great, but the youngsters are just fabulous. I am totally in love with Raphina, and Conor has all my sympathies. The powerful performance by Jack Reynor (the big brother) comes as a surprise and provides an extra boost to the whole thing.

It's a beautiful, beautiful movie. It is also fun and quite optimistic and I would recommend it to anyone.
