The Conspiracy of Dark Falls (2022)
Let's get this out of the way
So, quite a few critics on here with a heavy hand and a swift boot heading in the direction of the producer.
I really enjoyed this story. Yes the acting could be a little questionable. And the pacing could have been improved but how do you make a film like this on an incredibly tight budget?
I really did enjoy the story and the locations wherever that might have been. If anyone knows please do let me know I could use a visit.
A little more attention to detail about the security services but would have been a bit of a bonus. Having said all that, it's nice to have a mystery in the UK without the glitz of Hollywood and it's formulaic approach to keeping the oiks passivated with, rather paradoxically, fear and uncertainty. Overall a jolly good mystery and thank you to all those involved.
Age of Tomorrow (2014)
A Waste of Life
I watched this film, I use the term loosely, on a lazy Sunday afternoon when I should have been spending my time more usefully cutting my toe nails. Let me tell you, if you decide to waste an hour and a bit of your life watching this *thing*, after reading my words, you are an idiot.
Other reviewers have detailed specific criticisms but I merely wish to warn you not to do it. You will be sorry. You will be heart broken and you will feel cheated, because you have been.
Utter tripe!
Ad Astra (2019)
Apocalyptically Bad
I could have slept through this, it was that awful. Yes, the special effects were excellent, but in this day and age, SFX are nothing more than a back drop. In this case, to a story about an astronaut with a low pulse rate (why is that important you ask, I never found out), whose old man, same profession, abandons him as a child. Space is a back drop in the film - pretty.
Brad, what are you doing in this film? Whoever made this film, please don't do anything like this again and don't waste everyone's time.
Nyukhach (2013)
Loved it
Rather well written and well acted. Weaving in the private life of a disconnected father who glides like a big cat through the forensically impossible. The performances carry the plot well without truck loads of over done music.
Polar (2019)
Matt Lucas as the villain?
I quite enjoyed some aspects of this film and it had great potential. Until Matt Lucas hammed his way through his part. Casting? What were you thinking?
Merlin (2008)
Culturally rewritten
I couldn't get passed s01e01. I'm fond of Mallory's work and I know this is supposed to be entertainment, but...
The Arthur story is something which I prefer not to be screwed with. Each to their own, but I found it puerile. Perhaps it should be retitled; perhaps along the lines of Coronation Street meets Dungeons and Dragons.
