What a disaster
18 August 2006
First of, this is not a comedy. Where was the fun? because I somehow missed it. I believe you'll find the movie to be insensitive and sometimes even gross. Also, the acting is quite disappointing. The argument is completely ridiculous, and it gets worse as the movie develops.

I can think of many ways to describe this movie; lame, boring, stupid, weak, grotesque, absurd, poor...

Only if you're curious to see the young Jodie Foster or Rob Lowe I would recommend this fiasco. But even in that case, it would be better for you to just watch "Taxi Driver" or "Youngblood" for instance.

This is not worth watching. It's a terrible waste of time and I do not recommend it.

Wanna laugh?
7 November 2005
From the same director that "Les Visiteurs, 1993" comes a great comedy which has Christian Clavier and Gérard Depardieu as the main characters. They both perform wonderfully well. This is an excellent movie, very very funny. I personally adore french humor. The characters are great, the actors are well chosen and do divinely in the film. The plot is genius. It's a bit out of reality, but everything is so smoothly developed that for some breve moments you can almost believe that the whole thing could actually happen for real. If you wanna have a good time, don't doubt it, just go and watch it, I'm pretty sure you won't regret it.

Terrible
4 November 2005
Warning: Spoilers
In a future and very unlikely society, the protagonists of a world-known car race are admired. The race consists on how many people the driver can kill. The story per se is already quite ridiculous, but the way the characters flow is even more absurd. The fight scene couldn't be more pathetic; how can a skinny man fight a huge stud like Sly and get away with it? It must have been quite a challenge for Stallone to try to make the whole scene real. It was so extremely pathetic that it wasn't even funny. Let us not forget either the hideous clothing that the "presumed" hero of the movie proudly wears, or the idiotic sense of humor at which we are supposed to laugh.

Maybe not the worse movie I've ever seen, but close enough. I don't think it's worth watching, or maybe yes, just once, to know for sure how lame it is with your own eyes. Personally, I found it horrible and even disgusting at some point.

Really diverting movie
23 October 2005
Stephen Chow has done a great job, since he's starred, written and directed the movie. Prepare to laugh at the funny characters and to have a really good time while watching the fight scenes. The actors are good, some better than others though. The combats are well achieved and exciting, and the battles,(some reminding of Kill Bill in what refers to one guy fighting one thousand) are sensational. The bad guys are evil but with a trifling humorous touch. It's one of those kind of movies that help you forget about all of your problems and concerns, so just forget about everything, loosen up and laugh. I'd simply say: relax and have a good time!

Entertaining, contrary to what's mostly said
17 October 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Sylvester Stallone is without doubt still in shape, and if you have previously enjoyed watching him on screen, you will surely like him on this movie. Sharon Stone is also a good choice to play the girl, since her and Stallone have good chemistry on the film. The mutual attraction on both characters is divinely shown by the two actors. Although a lot of people didn't seem to enjoy this film, or even think of it as "acceptable" this movie is actually quite amusing. It is mostly to divert yourself for a while, so don't expect a big film with deep dialogues. But if what you're looking for is to have a good time without having to think too much, this is what you want, since it is indeed an agreeable way to entertain yourself.
