A Movie About Choices
13 November 2010
Warning: Spoilers
"There is no one to blame for the Korean War; not the soviets, North Koreans, South Koreans, Chinese or the anti communist nations. We only have over selves to blame for war, and no one truly wins one."

So states a previous reviewer; but that's wrong.

The North invaded and killed their "brothers." Stalin had to approve the use of Soviet tanks. The historical documentary proofs are available to researchers.

There really is good and evil in this world. We choose which side to join.

The students chose to sacrifice themselves to defend their homeland. The North Koreans chose to kill students. Their sacrifice was only a small part of the whole Korean War; but their example still inspires people.

This film tells that story rather well. We can all look at these examples and choose to live our life the right way. Or not. Doing good is not easy and often painful.

We can fight to enslave others, fight to free them from slavery, or just run away and hide. What will we do?

Better than you thought it would be!
18 December 2003
in spite of the limits on time and the temerity to dislike some parts of the Canon, Peter Jackson has created a masterpiece that even J. R. R. Tolkien himself would have liked.

Remember that the Professor said not to look too closely at Fairie lest the magic fade...

I missed some of the parts left out of all three films. But this one didn't feel as long as the second film... And I will be back to see it again and again...

Scenery, camera angles, appropriate pauses in the action... beautiful...

Well recommended... don't fail to see it on the big screen -- or even IMAX if it's available in your area...

They were men...

Brave men. Difficult mission. We need this film and the others by Millin available in the US... We are critically short of historical films about anything that happened in Southern Africa (unless you count the allegedly historical Shaka Zulu, Zulu, and Zulu Dawn)

Millin was a genius, not often credited here in the US...
