Suspects (2014)
Wow...a true drama that is as realistic as it can possibly be!
I started to watch this with a degree of uncertainty after a recommendation by a friend...I tend to only enjoy true crime documentaries....but on a slow evening with nothing much else to watch o have it a go...I was very impressed from the offset as to how real it made the situation feel?... unlike other crime dramas...it looks at things as they would happen in real life....it takes you inside the eyes of not only how the police find a suspect, but how they have to make the evidence stack up for any procecution....very refreshing and an addictive watch tbh....the last time I enjoyed fictional crime so much was reading the Patricia Cornwell books...
Hopefully there will be many more series of this spectacular drama to come?...
Most Dangerous Game (2020)
The worst thing is I could have made this film so much better!!
I'm an ametuer and even I could have come up with better hunters and a more grown up movie!....the film had "Fight Club" or "The Game" promise and fell at every hurdle....turned off after 60 minutes tbh.
Gunpowder Milkshake (2021)
More mediocre nonsense!
How many times can you tell the same story over again?....6 or 8 guys chase down a woman!... please stop making generic rubbish that turns over dollars and concentrate on quillity....
Where the next Shawshank redemption or Shinndler's List???...
It's expensive to take a family to the cinema! At least make it worth our while?
Chernobyl (2019)
Unbelievable
Utterly fantastic and gripping.... A real account of what actually happened in great and gory detail... No punches pulled when it comes to the human sacrafice made by so many brave men!...
My only wish is that the court hearing was a little more informative and the findings given in better detail.... Other than that.. Totally faultless...
The Hurt Locker (2008)
Most of the bad reviews appear to be from disgruntled Americans who were totally against the war with Iraq, so I'll disregard most of those!
A great film and well made!... I'm sure there are a few inaccurate parts of the film,
The fact of the matter is that this is a brilliant dipiction that encapsulates the fear and uncertainty around being a bomb desposal unit... It doesn't glorify it in anyway, it actually makes people sit up and realise just how much we undervalue such brave men and women, who were sent to do a job... Whether they believed in the political reasons or not?.... It also depicts how social and personal relationships can be put fully to the test by the trauma and the sights of war endured... If you like all action movies, where America saves the world, then this isn't for you!..but if you want to get the slightest understanding of how brave these people actually are, then it's a must watch...
The Humanity Bureau (2017)
Had enough about the storyline to mm ake a truly great film
Decent plot, and some good pointers towards a good night in... Unfortunately the plot was rushed and waisted... Some of the acting was atrocious and the whole thing fell apart into a predictable outcome..... This director was either in a rush to do another B movie or simply ran out of budget?... In Nicholas Cage defense I can see why reading the original story he felt it could be a good film?
Robin Hood (2018)
Why?
My daughter lived in Nottingham for a few years and I'm still wondering where all the surrounding hills come from in the film?... It's as flat as a pancake!... As for the plot, again Why?... If ever a story was in need of an Indie makeover, this is it, because the big boys haven't got a clue!...
