Hell of a directorial debut
16 March 2021
Recalling Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction - but edgier than both - this is a hell of a first film. For all its bonecrunching savagery, it's also a fundamentally moral work. Inarritu's talent may be derivative, but it's applied to a setting he knows well and whose vibrancy he's keen to convey.

This is one of the best movies from the past decade. Kenneth Lonergan's script is just brilliant and the performances will take your breath away.

Excellent film

The dialogue and performances of this film are breathtaking. It is a perfect example on how to create great tension through character and story without needing explosions and vfx.
