Rick and Morty: Rickfending Your Mort (2023)
Classic R&M, and I am not sick of that
This was a great episode aired after last week's amazing super canon episode. And it is tough to do this after such an episode in the middle of the season. The idea of this type of episode comes from Dan Harmon himself, in which there are flashbacks or "short clips". You can see that he did that on several episodes of "Community" and also R&M from previous seasons: Morty's Mind Blower, Total Rickal and the Train episodes. And I have to say, I really like them all. It is fun to see these short stories and clips which also give the writers a space to be creative. The flashback to the Meeseks episode was also nice, a thing that we observed to happen before, unlike other flashbacks.
Overall, after a "not good as expected" start of the season, these few recent episodes made me hopeful that the show is still alive, even though not all episodes are great. I can compare this season with season 5, where there were really great episodes and then also a few bad ones. Unlike season 6 which the quality of episodes was close, not bad, not so great.
Rick and Morty: Air Force Wong (2023)
This show needs fresh Characters!
I prefer this episode over the previous two, however, again if I want to consider the first 3 seasons as standard it's not a great one, just good.
I liked how genuinely Unity was, and the connection between Unity and Rick was certainly the highlight of the episode.
But, this episode again proves my theory, the issue is that recently, they are not able to develop new characters. So, they go and bring characters from previous seasons!
The show's reliance on revisiting old characters instead of introducing fresh ideas and characters is evident. Who is next to be back? The devil? Gazorpazorp? Snowball? The first seasons introduced numerous fascinating characters. When was the last time we saw a genuinely new character? Additionally, Morty's absence this season disrupts the central dynamic between him and Rick, which is crucial to the show's appeal.
Rick and Morty: The Jerrick Trap (2023)
Crystal episod + Whirly Dirly episode
Definitely better than the first episode, but hey, which episode isnt?
But if I want to consider the first 3-4 seasons as standard, still not a good episode. The main problem is that in the recent seasons, they were not able to develop new ideas and new characters. The thing that R&M was great at. So, they just go and grab characters and ideas from previous seasons. For example, they developed so many cool characters in the first season that you cannot even count. But, in the previous season and these two episodes, almost no new character is introduced that stands out. This episode also just reminds me of previous episode ideas: The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy, the Vat of Acid episode and Final DeSmithation. Enough with Jerry and Rick friendship and episodes if you do not have new ideas. I do not know about others, but this show is not as fun for me to watch as it used to be; I do not feel that enthusiasm while watching it.
Rick and Morty: Night Family (2022)
Fairly good for one time watching
The idea was not bad, the begging was good, but after a while, it gets boring and predictable. I expected at least a little bit of twist from the creators who made "Total Rickall", the one with alien parasites. Also, I barely laughed during this episode, not very funny.
Overall, it was good, but I am not eager to re-watch this episode, while I've seen most of the episodes of the previous seasons several times.
I am guessing they are trying to fill the middle of the season with roughly good-mediocre ideas and focus on the serialized part of the story in the last few episodes of the season, like what they did for season 5.
Also, two questions:
1-how night persons could talk and interact, but in the opening, night Rick did not talk to Beth?
2-If night persons could do anything beyond their ordered tasks, why they were doing chores at first?
Rick and Morty: Bethic Twinstinct (2022)
Real Game Console!
Enjoyable fun awkward R&M episode without crazy actions and killing and portal guns and Evil/Prime Morty/Rick.
I really missed this vibe from the first few seasons when everything started slowly and smoothly from the house, it had been a long time.
In recent episodes and seasons, there were lots of actions and violence like Morty going crazy killing everyone in Planetina episode, death crystal episode or his mortal fight with the portal guy in last season; or Summer doing a die-hard or killing a bunch of monsters in the first two episodes of this season; or Beths killing some creators/people. I mean, we had enough of every one of the family being badass and killing actions, at least for me.
Therefore, this episode completely fits with its dark jokes; I know, it might get creepy and tbh, it gets; but, isn't that the point?
Another thing that I enjoyed in this episode was the part about the real game that they were playing. The consol looked cool and with the "real" game, we were expecting something crazy like interdimensional cable TV or Roy game, that they will be sucked into the game or trapped in the game, but the concept of a "real" game was a meta for the real life, when every real thing is boring.
Rick and Morty: Solaricks (2022)
OMG! Stop explaining!
I mean, It was a good start, with good jokes, and nice storylines. They really did serialise it this time though! Very fan-feeding!
I think they over-explained stuff too much; it was too direct to be fun, and it felt a bit robotic. I did not feel drama during this episode; everything happened fast and direct with more than enough explanation. R&M was for smart audiences and now they are assuming we are a bunch of dumb people and need everything to be explained.
Now that I'm thinking about it, not serialized episodes were more fun, it is killing the creativity. They were more original.
Now they just mix a bunch of evil Morty, bird person, space Beth, citadel, Diane, Brave Jerry, Cronenbergs and Evil Rick and nothing beyond! Seriously, what is the point?
And I guess we have a devil Rick now? To make a whole bunch of attempts to make another decoy of the perfect S03E07 episode.

So fun and entertaining with a great amount of emotional essence. Both the ideas and execution were just brilliant and I really enjoyed this episode. Also, the small details and storylines were nice as well, like the post-credit or the way Morty kills the guy.
If we could have discarded some lame episodes between 3-7 (or let garbage goober have them), it would have been a great season. But we all agree that we can call this season the most unbalanced one.
Rick and Morty: Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort (2021)
Random super fast actions mixing with past storylines
It is definitely better than the last couple of episodes, but as we all know this is because they were not great and expectations had come low before this episode. Also, although there is a lot of lore in this episode, they are not super creative or mind-blowing; instead, there were just loads of fast-paced actions!
The part that I liked the most was the interaction between Rick and his 35-year old version of himself; it was the pro of this episode.
All I say is that I expect the idea of doing eternal sunshine of the spotless mind parody in a Rick and Morty episode to be super mind-blowing, not some random super fast actions mixing with past storylines. I'm sure if they had done this in one of the first three seasons, it would have been amazing.
Rick and Morty: Gotron Jerrysis Rickvangelion (2021)
The ideas are still great, BUT ...
The ideas are still great, but the execution is not in R&M standards (Seasons 1-3). Even from season 4, I could say something is off. Rick and Morty both act so out of their characters without any solid reason and continuity.
Also, it feels like every episode is very busy and noisy full of different viewpoints, maybe they added too many writers to their writers' room; in other words, I think it has become a paint that every part of it is painted by a different artist.
Rick and Morty: Rick & Morty's Thanksploitation Spectacular (2021)
Please save R&M!
The first two episodes were great but after that ...
Without any doubt, the worst season of the show; one of the best shows in the history of TV is officially collapsing!
I do not know whether it's because of new writers or anything else, anyhow, PLEASE SAVE R&M!
P.s: Whatever we have seen so far (including the next episode), cover all the 3 thrillers; so, no scene from the last three episodes(8,9,10)! Let's hope they will surprise us!
Rick and Morty: Amortycan Grickfitti (2021)
A good episode, definitely better than the last one, but still not superb
Solid ideas, great start for both story-lines, nice jokes, definitely better than the last one; however it gets a little boring and predictable when half of the episode passes; which doesn't let this episode to be a 10-star one. I'm sure they could have done more crazy things instead of the very linear progress of both story-lines.
But, after all, I'm happy that this time Rick was not beaten by someone ;)
Rick and Morty: Rickdependence Spray (2021)
Horse turd!
When I saw the first 2 episodes, I said this season is going to be a phenomenon, and then this happened.
I tend to believe this was the worst episode that one can make with such amazing characters and story background; maybe the writers did it intentionally.
Rick and Morty: A Rickconvenient Mort (2021)
A different episode for completing a season
A different episode from the last two ones, which is necessary for every season so that every single episode is not about complex nonlinear storylines; however, I tend to believe we already have seen better versions of this episode. It's very similar to the episode with Unity and a little bit the vat of acid episode; I mean, the Unity episode was a better version of love story for R&M. Also, the gross group-sex was something we had seen in the dragon episode, the inception episode and of course again the unity episode. Also, it reminds me of some other episodes like Raising Gazorpazorp and Rest and Ricklaxation when Morty got in love or date older women. Moreover, Beth and Jerry getting worried about Morty was not new either.
Although I talked mostly about the negative aspects, there were some interesting and fun parts like summer becoming Rick's favourite (again not so new!), the planets, Morty killing people so easily by himself and many other things; and of course my favourite part of the episode: Morty delivers pizza!
Overall, it was a good episode for completing a season, but definitely not one of my favourite of the series.
Rick and Morty: Mortyplicity (2021)
Somebody hunt me!!
Just wow! R&M is back with one of the classic episodes. What can I say more? Just incredible. When I saw the trailer I knew this "hunt me!" one was going to be a great episode. I have a feeling that this season is going to be a memorable one!
I was expecting the presence of Prof. Poopybutthole in this episode which unfortunately did not happen.
Also, I think this episode could have been a better opening for this season.
The only thing I give 9 instead of 10 is that it could have had a mind blowing ending like the "Total Rickall" episode.
Rick and Morty: Mort Dinner Rick Andre (2021)
Where is clone Beth? No connection to the ending of last season.
Although it was a good episode, it kinda feels weird. First of all, I was expecting a connection to episode 10 of the previous season. Because as I remember, the family was happy to have two Beths and was gonna live with it. But no clone Beth, not even a simple explanation. Maybe the creators are gonna mention it in the next episodes? We should wait and see; because if there wasn't any explanation it wouldn't make sense.
The best part of the episode was the Narnia-like story which was solid and creative, classic R&M. Jessica plot was somehow good and Mr. Nimbus also was a good character, I liked him; however, the weirdest part was Jerry and Beth trying to have a threeway with him, it was weird, makes absolutely no sense and does not fit the characters and storyline, completely out of order.
In overall, it was a solid episode and I enjoyed watching it.
Rick and Morty: Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri (2020)
Hey!!
Great season finale with a dark end. The storyline was amazing and the jokes were enjoyable.
Personally, at the end of the story, I was expecting some shocking events (something like the return of Evil Morty, president of US or Squanchy, or Rick himself was a clone or something crazy like that), but I think Rick realizing that he is a terrible father (Jerry's point) and a terrible friend, and once again becoming sad and alone was even "darker" than that.
Also, I liked the look of the new intergalactic federation! :) too bad it ended.
Rick and Morty: Childrick of Mort (2020)
Where is the R&M creativity style?
Rick got a planet pregnant (Raising Gazorpazorp, Auto Erotic Assimilation)
Jerry trying to get his children out of their phones (Anatomy Park)
Summer partying (Ricksy Business)
Jerry becoming a leader of savages (The Ricks Must Be Crazy)
Rick and Beth working together (The ABC's of Beth)
Jerry saving Beth (Rick Potion #9, Big Trouble in Little Sanchez)
Rick combat fights (Many episodes: The Ricks Must Be Crazy, Never Ricking Morty, The Rickchurian Mortydate, ...)
Jerry trying to get attention (Every episode)
This episode might be good for some random TV shows with 25 episodes per season, but definitely not for R&M with 10 episodes per season with really long pauses between seasons and even half seasons!
The long wait was supposed to be for reaching the high quality, but except for some episodes, it didn't worth it. Previous seasons absolutely had better quality and a good balance between episodes of the season.
Rick and Morty: The Vat of Acid Episode (2020)
Rick is Back!
This is classic R&M, not the last episode! For a classic one, an arrogant powerful Rick is vital! Also, a stupid classic Morty that forgets to save his game in a proper place.
And of course, a classic Jerry! with a hilarious dumb move ruining everything just in 1 sec!
Rick and Morty: Promortyus (2020)
I give a low score! :(
Unlike the previous episode which was a masterpiece with great storytelling, characters and twists, this episode was boring, very simple and straight, not funny, full of meaningless actions, nothing novel or creative (compare to other episodes). Because they showed all new things and masks and other kinds of stuff of this episode before in trailers. I watched every episode of R&M at least 3 times, but I could hardly follow this episode until the end.
Also, this is not classic R&M! classic R&M is "Meeseeks and Destroy", "Total Rickall", "The Ricks Must Be Crazy" etc. This episode is way far from the mentioned episodes in every aspect.
Moreover, I feel that Rick character was not powerful as usual, I don't like this weak Rick!
Peaky Blinders: Blackbird (2017)
Unbelievably Ridiculous!
So we are supposed to believe that Changretta agrees to the Poly's offer, giving up Tommy which Changretta could have killed him at the first place in his office!!
That's more than silly!
Unfortunately, they ruined the fantastic starting of the season.
The Office: Double Date (2009)
The hilarious moment of the show!
Toby teaching Pam how to punch Michael while he was watching in his office almost took my breath!
Funniest moment of show that I can remember.
Rick and Morty: Rattlestar Ricklactica (2019)
Now we are talking!
After 4 episodes which did not feel exactly like R&M, finally an excellent classic R&M episode. However it is also a little far from the best episodes (The Rickshank Rickdemption, Pickle Rick, The Ricklantis Mixup, Morty's Mind Blowers, Total Rickall, The Ricks Must Be Crazy, The Wedding Squanchers, Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind, Rick Potion #9 and so on), but definitely far R&Mortier than the last 4 episodes.
We expect suchlike episodes in the upcoming episodes (or season).
Rick and Morty: One Crew over the Crewcoo's Morty (2019)
Please do not push too hard!
I think the authors are pushing too hard in this season, which does not have a perfect outcome. The ideas are still great, but the implementation, hmmm no! The authors trying too hard to include everything in each episode, character developments, parallel story-lines, new characters and so many other things which all can not be included in just one 20-minute episode; they just should go with the flow!
