I like dinosaurs. I like Stephen Fry. I like immersive documentary series.

You'd think this series would be a slam dunk for me.

It was not.

Like almost every other review has pointed out, the CGI is bad. Really bad. 90s TV show levels bad. That's not an overreaction. This is genuinely some of the worst CGI I've seen out of schlocky B-movies in years. It's almost like they ran out of time and just threw a bunch of stuff together in the hope that no one would notice.

But I could easily look passed all that, if the show was at least informative. If it was at least an interesting show, that provided some interesting material, they could've used muppets as dinosaurs, and I still would've enjoyed it.

And that's where the problem is.

It is absolutely rife with basic objective inaccuracies. Dinosaurs that are somehow 5-10 times heavier than they actually were, dinosaurs that just did not look the way we know they actually looked. Locations. Behaviours. Feeding patters. The list goes on and on.

It is genuinely shocking how much of the information portrayed in this show is just factually wrong. How did this ever make it to screen? Why was there no fact checking done on this? Why on earth did Stephen Fry attach his good name to this?

Unbelievable.

Should never have been made. Should never be seen by anyone. Should never be mentioned again.

Anyone involved in this should be deeply, deeply ashamed of themselves.

The amount of absolute nonsense pseudo-science in this "documentary" is insane. Unproven claims, ridiculous claims and, quite frankly, dangerous claims with zero peer reviewed evidence behind it. All of it aimed at the most gullible amongst us.

Avoid.

Notice how the only (and very few) positive reviews are all from accounts with no other activity whatsoever? Yeah, that has a reason.

This show is genuinely bad. It is honest to god, the worst bit of television I have ever seen. Another reviewer wrote that they've had more laughs watching WW2 documentaries, and they're not even wrong.

I get that taste is subjective, and that's why I usually don't bother with reviews. Everyone likes what they like and that's perfectly fine. But this. This is the one time I will say something is unequivocally and objectively terrible. The acting, the jokes, the "writing". Nothing about it works. At all. On even the most basic level.

I don't know who signed off on this. I don't know how this ever got made. I don't know why anyone would put themselves through the horror of watching this.

Personally, I'd rather jab my eyes out and wait for the world to end than ever watch a single second of this nightmare again.

God knows we deserve it if this is what we're doing with the place.
