In the Forest (2022)
Bad, bad, bad
Bad acting, plot, and dialog. The mother's "life isn't easy, you have to work hard for everything" responses get old really fast. The camper gets stuck in a hole that wasn't there before. The grandfather is supposed to know about camping, yet he doesn't know how to set up a tent, all of their equipment is brand new, and he blocks the remote road by just stopping and setting up camp. The way they try to get the camper unstuck is laughable, and his injury (while standing directly in line with the wheels) is impossible.
I stopped watching when the rural "inhabitant" started painted his captive boy's toenails. No thanks.
The Badge, the Bible, and Bigfoot (2019)
This deserves 10 negative stars
The people who gave 10 stars must be the "actors" themselves or their family and friends. I couldn't get past the first ten minutes!
The acting attempts are the worst I've ever seen and the characters are not believable as real people. The camera angles don't make sense, the dialog is stupid, and there's absolutely no chemistry between the main characters, which is REALLY bad since they are married in real life! Why don't they make eye contact? I can picture them taking turns with the camera - "Ok, I said my lines so give me the camera so I can film you saying your lines". The kids act better than the adults.
I found out from reading the reviews that the female main character is also the writer and director. That explains it!!!
Exists (2014)
Better than I expected
I would've rated this movie much higher if the Bigfoot costumes had been better. Also, there should've been more research into Bigfoot sightings so the sounds that the creature makes matches what they are doing. There wouldn't have been whooping during an attack. There would have been rock throwing, too. The time in the cabin could've been better if the attack hadn't happened so early.
Overall, the suspense is very good. Just the video of the car going through the woods gave me the creeps. I wish there had been a creature standing in the background barely visible as an Easter egg kind of thing. That would have increased the suspense.
