Worst movie I've seen in ages
24 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I couldn't believe how awful this movie was. I had been told to expect a "reboot" on a par with J.J. Abrams Star Trek or the Daniel Craig Bonds. What a joke. Fury Road is pathetic. I don't often write reviews on IMDb but in this instance I feel a duty to warn people. Do not spend money on this film. I don't only watch Oscar nominated big budget Hollywood movies, I also watch a lot of B movies and low budget films and generally enjoy them all - provided the film makers are making an effort. Despite the recommendation, I did not have high expectations for Fury Road because "Mad Max" but it did not even come up to my low expectations. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw such an awful awful film.

Here comes the spoiler bit...

It looks like George Miller took a 30 second snippet of a chase scene out of Mad Max 2 and played it in a loop to stretch it out to a 2 hour movie. I was constantly on the verge of falling asleep. None of it made any sense. Miller should be ashamed of himself. Try harder. Try a lot harder.

Rubbish. Hated it. I sometimes re-watch bad movies just to make sure they are actually bad and I wasn't just in a bad mood for the first viewing. In this instance I won't bother. It was crap.

Hogwash

This is just an all round awful movie. I can't believe there are three writers credited because there really wasn't much of a script. You can't scrimp on the script writing and hope to get by on ad-libbed dialogue alone.

I rented this movie because it has Richard Ayoade in it and from the trailer it looked like a promising setup. I imaged something like, the most excellent, Attack the Block. Instead I was subjected to an incredibly dull and boring 102 minutes of puerile twaddle. This was a waste of Mr. Ayoade's talent and everyone's time.

Try harder.

Film '72 (1971–2018)

7/10 with Barry Norman. 10/10 with Jonathan Ross.

This has always been a good show. Barry Norman was informative, but I found I could not rely on his recommendations. If he said a film was bad that seemed to be a good indication that I might like it.

When Jonathan Ross took over I fully expected the show to take a turn for the worse because up until then I'd only seen Wossy playing the fool. However when it comes to Film, Jonathan clearly takes the subject very seriously and has such a professional delivery it's as if he becomes a different person.

Jonathan is very knowledgeable and passionate about film and gives useful and thorough reviews and behind the scenes info. Most importantly he makes recommendations you can rely on. If Jonathan says a film is good, you can bet it will be. Except maybe when it comes to Japanese monster movies ;)
