Bit Parts (2006 Video)

This movie sucks
2 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This happens to be one of the worst movies I have ever do...err rented. What a piece of trash! The acting is some of the worst I have ever encountered in all my days of watching real bad horror films. The gore is terrible, the violence almost not even there, and the plot is so laughable it makes me cringe to even think about. I can't believe all the people on here writing good reviews. How could you say something good about this? I thought it had potential from the box cover but no way is this even remotely close to something that is worth watching. If you want some entertainment, I would suggest picking your toenails or combing your hair before watching this flick.

I give it a F!

PLEASE, whoever made this film just stop right now. Don't torture the world anymore with this garbage!

PS: I thought Plan 9 From Outer Space directed by Ed Wood was better.

Great Italian Sci-fi Alien rip-off
16 December 2003
Great entertainment here, folks. I had the pleasure to watch the UNCUT Japanese print of this cool Italian "Alien" rip-off. The action sequences are violent and full of automatic weapons. The soldiers are evil in their conquest to stop a man and woman from spilling the secret of nuclear dumping in a volcano. It seems before they can get away, the radiation attracts an evil alien intent on taking over the world. Even tho the alien monster is silly, the movie on a whole is a decent spaghetti-made gory alien monster movie!

Rating: 7/10 because even tho the budget was small, director Antonio Margheriti still manages to catch the attention of the audience and the effects are pretty gory. If you liked this movie, also check out "Cannibal Apacalypse" and "Blood For Dracula" for more shocks!

Not very scary Giallo thriller from Italy
16 December 2003
This movie starts out slow, the middle is slow, and the ending is slow. I bought the UNCUT Super-long 100 minute version, which looked GREAT letterboxed from a mail order company. This FULL version had some nudity, a few short scenes of a stabbing, and plenty of weird imagery, but director Sergio Martino falls flat at making the audience scared, interested, or intriqued. This movie could have been good, but it comes off as being boring and pointless.

Rating: I give this movie 3/10 because of some tasteless nudity and a few satanic ritual scenes with some added demonic orgies (but I couldn't really see what was going on ala Stanley Kubrick's Eye's Wide Shut.)

This Giallo film from director Lamberto Bava is first-rate
13 December 2003
This film is why I worship and adore Italian Giallo films. For one, it has beautiful women in the cast. It is shot with a love for the film art, and is filled with evil and graphic violence that caused it to be censored in many countries. The violence is never ending, with fountains and fountains of the red stuff. The knife attacks are brutal, pull no punches-style of showing the knife entering the flesh. The shock ending will have your blood pumping and adrenaline going. Don't buy the over-hyped commercial garbage out there. Grab the UNCUT Anchor Bay DVD of this awesome display of Italian-made carnage. You will NOT be disappointed!

Rated: 9.5/10 because of the cool plot, the shock ending, and the bloody and graphic murder scenes.

Brain Damage (1988)
Tripped out drug/gore movie
9 December 2003
This movie is real cool. It starts out with a boy who unknowingly gets hit by Alymer, a penis-shaped parasite that attaches onto his neck to inject him with a blue drug that SERIOUSLY makes the user dependant on the drug. Very cool and nasty gore scenes, including a "BJ" sequence with the parasite and a scene where the boy pulls out his own brains. Both of these sequences where missing in the "Paramount" video cassette release (of course) but the new remastered DVD from the fine folks at Synapse films is the fully UNCUT and UNCENSORED nasty version that everyone needs to see.

I give this film a healthy 8.5/10 because of some cool gore and a decent storyline that is not watered-down like most Hollywood product.

Aenigma (1987)
What a piece of crap!
5 December 2003
Watching this movie is a lot like self-dismemberment. You want to do it before, but after you wish you hadn't. Lucio Fulci, director of many pasta-land splatter films, releases this not-so-famous film in 1987. The basic story is a dorky girl gets picked on by all the rich stuck up girls of a private school. They all play a cruel trick on her when a handsome boy of the school pretends to like her, only to laugh and laugh at her when she tries to "make out" with him. She runs away only to afterward get hit by a car. While in her coma, she some-how manages to possess a new girl in the school, who in turn commits murder against the "bad" students that hurt the girl. This movie has the infamous "rape by snail" scene which isn't as gruesome as you might expect from Fulci after the spiders and dogs in 'The Beyond." I watched the UNCUT Japanese print, but from what I could tell nothing was cut out of the old 86 minute version violence-wise except for the "lip biting" scene.

Overall, a 4/10 because of a rape-by-snail scene. Come on Lucio, more gore PLEASE!

A Cheap Italian Alien film
5 December 2003
The budget in this one is VERY VERY low, the colors are not right, and the gore is not very bloody and FAKE looking. The blood almost looks like paint and the aliens make me laugh. For an Italian horror film, this one ranks as one of the worst. I purchased the UNCUT Japan release thinking I was going to see some cool Italian splatter. Boy was I disappointed! The acting of course is bad (It's ITALIAN after all) and the movie pretty much all takes place in a cavern-like place. As far as Italian cinema goes, there are plenty of better and more violent horror/sci-fi pictures than this, including SHOCKING DARK and CONTAMINATION. I would seek those out instead of this piece of trash.

Rating: 3/10 because of some LAME but bloody not-so-special F/x.
