Jerry Seinfeld: 'I'm Telling You for the Last Time' (1998)
Best stand up performance ever!
Jerry Seinfeld is a comedic genius! He is the only comedian I know that is so insanely funny without using any profanity. It's so refreshing to hear a comedian not swear every few seconds. His jokes and stories are so relate-able, I think that's what makes all of them so funny. Hearing jokes about common everyday things is funnier than hearing some comics' made up story about a very unlikely experience. Moments in this movie you will be rolling on the floor laughing no matter how old you are. The audience in the movie are really lively, that's always good. You tend to laugh less if there's a tough crowd. Jerry is such a likable guy and so is this performance. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to laugh
Panic Room (2002)
Fun and entertaining thriller
I watched Panic Room not knowing what to expect, I read nothing about it. I only knew that the cast had award winning actress Jodie Foster known for her role in "Silence of the Lambs". Knowing her from that movie and seeing the cover art of the DVD for Panic Room lead me to think this was a horror movie. I was happily surprised to see that Jared Leto was in the movie because he's a great actor and one of my favorite singers. Forest Whitaker is always good, and it was funny to see a young Kristen Stewart. Kristen is 12 in this movie and she does a surprisingly good job and turns out to be one of the most likable characters. So right off the bat the cast is strong. So the plot is a mom and her daughter move into a new house that has a room that is for emergencies that has a vault like door and monitors on the wall to watch whats going on inside the house. Three robber break in not knowing they moved in. When the robbers first break in one of them named Raoul drops 3 one liners that had me laughing at each one. This movie has several comedic moments that are sure to make you laugh. This movie isn't all jokes though, at times you're at the edge of your seat. It's a great thriller because the situation these people are in could happen to anyone. Well anyone who has an enormous room in their house with screens so you can watch whats going on in every room. You get so attached to the characters in this movie that you really want them to get help. On the other hand though you also like the dialog between the robbers so you don't really want them to be caught. I loved this movie and would suggest it to anyone.
