Captain Marvel (2019)
Good movie
I enjoyed it. The MCU gains a new hero. A better plot and script than Black Panther. I understand some peoples reservations... they're afraid of powerful women.
Brie plays the role of an ex test pilot turned Kree spec ops on the run very well... She does have an emotional range and the graphics are what you've seen in the other MCU films.
This is easily a solid 7 or 8, I put 10 because hahaha. It's an above average Marvel film and a good first step for the Hero who will become leader.
Stargate Origins: Episode #1.2 (2018)
More of the same.
Trying it... so at least no one can say I didn't. It's only 10 min episodes...
*Sigh*
Ok, I guess at a stretch a VW Kübelwagen could jump a Stargate. We've seen trucks and someone use a homes electricity supply to generate wormholes. But one human pushing the ring around? Meh...
Nazi guy is typical Nazi... No issues... But that blow did not knock out the Nazi guard, and the stereotypical 'tough girl swigging a bottle of spirits cos she's hard like' just no... it's Black Panther all over again with the 1950s backwards way of looking at 'oppressed minorities'... and she doesn't even have a reaction to doing it.
We get it, she's a 90's heroine and has to prove it to everyone because men are all evil and hate strong wo... give me a break... One thing Black Panther did well was it's women. Mercedes would do well to take note of how to have roles for women without resorting to them having to be pistol packing, whiskey swilling, Nazi punching relics.
Would have been better had she walked into the tent at the end, picked up a knife and cut herself free, before saying they have to go rescue her Dad.
But no, walks in, takes a huge drink of whiskey and... then what? She's not going to be able to construct a clear action plan. And in an hour or so is going to need a wee every 10 minutes... GENIUS. But no, Alcohol, the go to for creating a 'cool, badass'. *Sigh* How progressive...
Stargate Origins: Episode #1.1 (2018)
It was bad
Little attention to detail was made. Numerous errors in clothing, vehicles, weapons and dated items. It reads more like a school drama production than something to follow up from the award winning SG1.
Granted this is an attempt at a reboot but why? Like with Star Wars forgetting the EU this is a major flaw... what? Licensing has run out on the old stuff so let's scrap it? The viewing audience is dumb and wont be able to get the hang of other things having happened before? I'm sick of studio execs undermining my intelligence and that of others. I can sit infront of a well written show and enjoy it and pick things up.
One or two refresher episodes dropping you into the SG1 timeline 5 or 10 years later would be fine. First episode running with the new SG1 as they take a new SG team on their first offworld trip to a human base the other side of the Stargate, the new big bad (Or Goa'uld, heck why not...) Attack and they fend them off. second Ep is a debrief along with a raid on an outpost that's been discovered by the freed Jaffa using one of the 304's and some F-302's... bang, first season is off and running.
Heck, you could even bring back the Asgards or at least a less evolved form via the Asgards supercomputer that had been running a program or whatever... boom... 5 major races all set for another 10 years without worrying the Asgards are OP AF (Or introduce them later on... I dunno)
But instead we get... this. I mean damn, at least my idea enables you to whip up a new DVD/Bluray box set to go on sale for those who want to see the origins. Hell, even give some closure to the disappointedly short lived SGU rather than trying to make a prequal and screwing it up in the first 5 minutes... Oh wait... it's a 10 min 'webisode' we've gone back to 2004 everyone... next up the Stargate podcast...
They had a chance to bring Stargate to the present day... Look at how Star Trek Discovery has pulled back. We could have Starget like that... but we get given this... drivel. Sooner I get working on my Original series (Oh yes, very original) the better and I won't have time to be watching dross like this.
It's weak... very weak...
That 70's Girl (2004)
Errr...
It's not great. You'd be better off finding something else. Only real thing that can attract anyone is Misty's shower scene. It's long, casual masturbation, Misty sure is clean afterwards but the reason to see it is her armpit hair in keeping with the 70's girl hippy vibe. Dunno, did it for me. Certainly that hippie chick we would all like to pick up. Certainly worth it for Misty fans (About 9 minutes in)
Another shower scene and 3 lesbian scenes one with AJ, one threesome and one foursome but the action swaps between the partners too much.
In all it's rather mediocre. Like I said it's just for Misty fans to see her with some armpit hair in the shower.
Shame really, Misty's premise kinda plays off, script lays it on a bit thick but the credits showed premise as did the shower scene (It's worth a peek) AJ is also good but again let down by the script and softcore background. Less said about the other two the better, one is the strict down to business woman and the other is more laid back... safe to say they both fall for Misty's charms (Or pot brownies)
Could certainly have done with being expanded on, lengthened and use of a cameraman without ADHD. But that's the issue with most of the films Misty is in.
