The Eddy (2020)
Jazzy but made me dizzy
I felt like they forgot to put the shots through a software stabilizer the entire camera work of the series was so shaky that I couldnt continue after an hour
Berlin Junction (2013)
Will give you a hangover
Its an improvisation on a very weak script. Almost every single character is weak. Would be A wonderful film student project movie but I dont think it is a film student project. Watching some guy randomly drifting around berlin drunk and high was really not attractive for me.
2012: Doomsday (2008)
the world is falling apart...go somewhere safe.
Father calls daughter and says "Go somewhere safe. The whole world is about to fall apart, I have to know that you are safe!" Seriously. Somewhere safe when the whole world is falling apart?
And this is followed by the girl doing a "...the reason I am here might be because of Gods will..." talk, which she does to often throughout the rest of the parts I could endure. I could watch very small part of this movie and had to Google who made it and had to write my first review. This makes me wonder how the ext could actually go all the way to being produced without someone saying "Wait. I think we are doing a big mistake here."
Gegen die Wand (2004)
Drama up our nose
As a Turk what I loved about the movie is its portrayal of the ever generic Turkish lover. It describes in amazing accuracy all the insane acts, the alcohol consumption to help the excessive pain, the quest for drama of Turkish lovers. This is a very accurate movie. The soundtrack ranging from rock to classic Turkish to the beautiful Fanfare Ciocarlia is worth buying.
What I didn't like about the movie was the sound. I would love to see this movie with a fine dolby surround sound especially as he was dancing, or should I say "hora" ing, -covered in blood- to Fanfare Ciocarlia in the club. That is a scene I can relate myself to.
Closer (2004)
love, if you mess with it, it will mess with you
a wonderful look at passion. It takes off where Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind left, a promising beginning of confirmed matches and ends right where it starts, a huge pack of memories to last a lifetime of regretfulness.
The acting is amazing and an hour and fifty minutes is barely enough for the grand message the movie tries to carry.
I just wish they substituted the word "love" in the whole movie with something else so the message of it's semi-existent state of being would be better understood. I also wish they substituted physical beauty of the personalities, but I guess that would bring in far more complexity then a play can handle.
Les triplettes de Belleville (2003)
a worthless resource of ridiculousness
other than the smelly subject of good vs. evil; this movie was not cheesy, reason being that nothing in the movie made sense. and in a a way this non-senseness is really wrong. we were a party of four and all four of us wondered why people were laughing at a dog walking down the stairs. all throughout the movie people were laughing at similar situations making us wonder what was wrong with us.
the animation in this movie was of no significant value. All I remember was that it had pale colors... Again; the plot was *nonsense* to a point where you didn't expect anything from the movie anymore.
I see people are comparing it to Spirited Away which makes me sad, because I went to this movie with high expectations and I was waiting it to be over after 10 minutes, but I watched Spirited Away by chance and was amazed by it. This movie is about good vs. evil which Spirited Away did not bother touching...
Honestly, this movie does not try to be anything and it looks as if it is produced as a joke.
The soundtrack was the only thing that was allright about the movie but it cannot do anything to save the things I have witnessed happen. I have never felt this bad about a movie and I cannot beleive the positive reviews here. I do not know much about *the French comedy* or how hard it is to create an animation like this but I just hope i wont pay to see another movie like this. i signed up to imdb just to write this review.
