I don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with the Irish accents. They certainly didn't speak English back then anyway, so I think it's kind of presumptuous to assume they should be speaking with a British or an American accent. It makes no sense to me, and I don't think it interfered at all with their great performances and the overall watching experience.
The cast was incredible in my opinion. Jared Leto delivered a very strong performance, Collin Farrell was terrific, Anthony Hopkins was legendary as always. The only terrible casting mistake is Angelina Jolie (who is the reason I avoided watching this Film for so long). Her accent is horrific. I don't know what she was trying to be, she sounded like an evil witch from an unknown continent that spoke an odd mixture of languages. Seriously. The worst I've ever seen her perform.
