I love almost all of the films made by Ridley Scott and Terrence Malick.

Top 25 Asian Films
25 titles |
Public
Asia has a lot to offer when it comes to films. These are my favorites. (And there are tons I have not seen so if you have suggestions I would love to hear them)
Approach all with an open mind, as Asian cinema quite often differs from western cinema by the way they approach style, narrative etc. ---- which honestly is why I love it so much.
If you can do this, I promise you will love most if not all of these films.

Qing chun ji (1986)
Feast for the eyes... Hard to find but available on Youtube
6 February 2024
Wish I was able to find a higher quality version of this film... watched it in 480p on youtube and it was already shot with a low quality camera, but yet I could not take my eyes off the screen. An absolute feast for the eyes, and the story is heartfelt. Well worth a watch.
I have backpacked China twice and I wish I could have found this China. Not sure it even still exists. The film is like time travel. Utterly fascinating and stirring.
Each shot is like an old chinese painting, from the mountains and rivers to the old dai village, and the girl who plays the main role is utterly charming. 10/10 for a unique and beautiful experience.
