Love at First Sight (I) (2023)
8/10
Unexpectedly sweet, cute, and fun movie!
16 September 2023
I was very pleasantly surprised by this movie! The story is heartwarming and fun, with serious, sad, and silly moments as well. As I'm sure most of you know, most Netflix original films are worth between about 3 and 6 stars, but I'm giving this one an enthusiastic 8. It really is such a sweet story, the cast is good, great dialogue, good pacing, clever word/number play, serendipity, and good character development. The characters grow on you super fast and make you care about them easily. The whole plot takes place over only about 30 or so hours, but it feels a lot longer since so many serious and tender moments happen in that time. It's definitely worth a watch if you like chick flicks!

Endless Love (2014)
7/10
Very good movie for its genre!
15 May 2023
If you enjoy a good teen/first love romantic drama, ignore the negative reviews and watch it. For this genre, it is an especially well-made, well-acted, entertaining, warm and fuzzy movie. It has more depth, a better script, and better cast than a lot of the others. I personally really enjoy movies that I can watch without having to think too hard, when the mood strikes. I enjoy fluffy movies that make me believe in love. If you don't, then skip it! If you're expecting a deep, thought-provoking, award winning movie that's never been done before, you will end up disappointed. That is not what this movie is trying to be. I honestly don't know what the people writing these reviews expected from it. It's a teen forbidden romance/drama, not The friggin Shawshank Redemption. 7/10.

A Dangerous Defense (2021 TV Movie)
1/10
One of the worst movies Lifetime has ever made, which is really saying something.

Warning: Spoilers
***SPOILERS AHEAD***

Horrible acting, horrible script, horrible dialogue. Choppy transitions. Unrealistic sequence of events. The Main Character is an attorney who is forced by the big boss at her new law firm to represent her younger Sister who has been accused of murdering their Father. That is such a major conflict of interest it would never happen in real life. The Main Character even says that it's illegal but her boss "doesn't care". It doesn't matter if the boss doesn't care lol. Illegal is illegal and it wouldn't fly in court, to the best of my knowledge. The Main Character's Daughter has heard her Mom talk about the case multiple times (if I remember correctly), and then goes along to the Mom's younger Sister's house but has no idea that she has an Aunt and is about to meet her? Do you know of any teenaged girls who would just follow blindly to a stranger's house and not ask whose front door they were knocking on? The Main Character's Ex-Husband is randomly brushing his teeth in his office and it is so out of place and weird. Why not just have him use the poisoned toothpaste in the bathroom instead of just injecting it into a random scene? The Daughter finds out the next day that her Dad was just murdered, then steals her Mom's car to go confront and accuse the Aunt of killing him. A short while later they're just sitting by the pool laughing and drinking wine like nothing happened? Hamming it up with the only person of interest in the case. The Mom shows up and doesn't even address the fact that the Daughter doesn't know how to drive but stole the car to go there and could have killed someone or died herself. She says "I'm sorry, pumpkin" about her Dad being killed and then it just goes to them talking and laughing and drinking wine by the pool again like nothing has happened!! His body isn't even cold yet! Maybe it's not the best time for a girls' night. You have to suspend reality so much just to get through this movie. Which is unfortunate because the main idea is actually decent. Watch at your own risk, or just put it on in the background while you play Animal Crossing, like I do. Other than providing a lot of cringe, some laughs, and plenty of eyerolls, it isn't really worth watching. Don't take it seriously at all or pay very much attention and you'll be fine though!
