Ace Combat: Assault Horizon (2011 Video Game)
6/10
Visuals and Soundtrack Blind You From The Truth
27 July 2012
Ace Combat Assault Horizon is the first Of the series to shy away from it's fictional setting and into the real world. The first time you play it, you are sucked in by it's sexy visuals and epic soundtrack. Take away those elements from this game and you have a mediocre plot that can be predicted to the very end.

The missions are long and can become dull. Especially the chopper missions. But the Dog fighting mode is suppose to make the fighting intense. The Dog fighting mode is very attractive, but it only distracts you from the truth that the plot is weak (Much like a Michael Bay film). The voice acting is weak, Especially the main character, who has almost little to no emotions. He does not compare to , Mobius 1, Blaze, or The Demond Lord on any level when it comes to your impact on the war. They were legends, people feared them and marveled at their ability to change the tide of battle. You are not as feared as The demon Lord,or The demons of Razgriz, Therefore you are not given the respect as an unstoppable force as you were in previous games The key elements that made Ace Combat special are not in this game: A great story line, great characters, and the boss fights. Assault Horizon was supposed to be a step in a new direction. New doesn't always mean better. Hopefully they will take a step back, and go back to the fictional land we all fell in love with. Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War (2004 Video Game)

"Nothing Else Comes Close"
14 May 2012
This is by far the greatest game of the entire franchise. While others before and after were good, nothing will beat the griping story that The Unsung War had.

Playing this game as a young kid, i didn't fully pay attention to the story, i was more into the action. Now that i'm 19, I understand the story and was blown away by how amazing it was.

But what made this game great was the characters. They were all unique in their own way. Hans Grimm was somewhat insecure and caring. Alvin H. Davenport was talkative with a great sense of humor. And of course Kei Nagase the strong Silent type. This colorful cast made it hard not to love them.

What i loved most about this game was Nagase's devotion to Blaze. Early in the game she promises to protect him even if it costs her life. Although it is not clear that Blaze was Nagase's love interest, i think i can speak for all fans when i say we hope that Nagase and Blaze became lovers in the end Romance, Tragedy, Drama, this game has it all. The chances of this game turning into a movie is bleak, but if project aces were to remake this game for PS3 and X-Box 360, The game will gain more popularity and we might have a Sci-fi thriller in 2017 . . . Ace Combat: The Unsung War rated PG-13. I like the sound of that!

Perfection
4 April 2012
Watching this gave me heart palpitations. From start to finish there is never a dull moment. Something is always happening and your adrenaline is always pumping.

Heath Ledger gave the performance of his life. He did a masterful job as the Joker. No disrespect to The great Jack Nicholson, but Ledger's performance was more memorable. Mostly because of how tragic his sudden death was

The intensity of this film surpasses any experience you've had in life. This movie is almost better than sex (almost). This is the greatest sequel ever produced and i am glad i was alive to witness the masterpiece bestowed upon me by the great Chrisopher Nolan.

. . . I blinked and the games were over
2 April 2012
Having read the book, my mind automatically started to point out certain details that were left out or altered. But that aside, did they get it right? Was the book done justice? The answer is NO. I blinked and the games were over. They botched the part with the mockingjay pin, but that's Hollywood for you. But most importantly, they did not spend enough time developing the star-crossed lovers from district twelve. That was what we fell in love with when we read the book. Watching Katniss fall for Peeta during the games.

Overall, the movie gives you your edge-of-your-seat action. Jennifer Lawrence doesn't disappoint. Elizabeth Banks did a masterful job as Effie. Thumbs up to all of the acting performances.

If you haven't read the book, you might enjoy this movie. If you are a fan of this book, prepare to be disappointed.
