SAS Rogue Heroes (2022)
Well produced and well worth your watch
Can't remember having seen a good series or film displaying WWII from the African theater viewpoint. Plus the 'birth' of the SAS proves to be extremely well suited for a longer run of entertaining televised content and I'm pleasantly surprised by this series. Had a bit of Len Deighton's book 'City of Gold' vibe to it. That's a recommended read if you've liked this show btw :)
As I'm obliged to use six hundred characters in order for this review to be allowed a posting by the dear international movie database online reviewing committee, here are two hundred and twenty two characters to finish.
Richard Hammond's Workshop (2021)
Positive feelings about this show!
It's interesting, the rates show appreciation but the first written reviews are negative.. Of course the way 'the internet' works is mainly negativity based. Always easier to burn something down..
But to counterbalance that I think this show deserves a lot more positivity. The father and son team are an excellent choice for Richard's endeavour and if you are into cars, restoring them and the (entertaining, not too serious) business side of that, this show is definitely worth your watch. To me it invokes a lot of sympathy which keeps me watching.
Cardinal (2017)
Refreshing and captivating crime series
This series got me having a soft spot for it since episode one of season one and I think series 4 (apparently it's the last, that's a pity!) is the best of them all.
The personal (and very human) portrait the lead actors give of their characters I could relate to very well. From both the cops' side as well as the criminals/killers.
I felt moved and touched by all their performances, many times over all four seasons.
Very well done!
Innocent (2018)
Absolutely excellent
Rarely I review anything on IMDB because all the best films, shows and series have all been reviewed better beyond my ability. But by Innocent I'm blown away enough to write a few words on the series' behalf.
Over the last years ITV hits the spot consistently with crime/drama and this serie is no exception.
The solid acting together with a well scripted story make for an intense viewing which left me with emotions strong enough to write this.
Highly recommended!
Our Planet (2019)
why is the lesson so hard to learn?
All the stunning imagery and storytelling aside, why is it so hard for people to face facts?
To 'qualify' this as propaganda or pseudoscience you must seriously have some screws very, very loose. That's like saying smoking won't cause you cancer because it's all a made up story...
To the deniers of extinction caused by us humans: I don't hope you have kids or have any hope of one day raising some. They don't deserve that.
