Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
Too much slapstick comedy.
Chris Hemsworth is brilliant as Thor, as always. Christian Bale's performance was powerful. You can tell he puts all his effort into his roles, but I feel the writing in this film let him down and downplays his seriousness. The story is just filled with too much humour which most of the time, it isn't particularly funny.
It's taken away the seriousness of Thor and made it more of a comedy. For example, some Asgardian children were kidnapped and there was no sincerity to it, instead the jokes carried on like it wasn't much of a big deal. Furthermore, there's a super villian who is probably as powerful as Thanos threatening all Gods, and again, the slapstick jokes carry on. It's a shame.
Endeavour: Pilot (2012)
A good insight into the uprising of Inspector Morse
Marking the 25th anniversary of the very first episode of Inspector Morse, Shaun Evans steps in to John Thaw's shoes to play the younger version of Colin Dexter's iconic character.
Set in 1965, the story follows the hunt for a missing schoolgirl which draws Endeavour Morse back to the place which will ultimately shape and define his destiny – Oxford.
Deep in a full-blown murder investigation and led by Detective Inspector Fred Thursday, Endeavour finds himself side-lined, discredited and at a dead end.
Will he risk it all in the hunt for a truth that could haunt him for the rest of his days?
