Good movie
26 July 2022
Ethan Hawke delivers a solid performance, in fact the whole of the main cast, except for the man who plays the priest, is good. Even though I figured out the movie within the first 20 minutes this was still a good movie that I would recommend to others.

I'm not much of an Emma Watson fan, but when it gets to the reveal of the mystery she manages 5 minutes of solid believable acting that sells the reveal. In her next scene she goes back to her flat dimensionless acting. She put more effort into her Harry Potter role, but even in that role she wasn't very good.

Thank you.

~ Jeremy.

What is wrong with people?!?
27 June 2022
I am disturbed by the review that I read by "An Impartial Reviewer" and how they commented that the movie and director only portrayed the dark side of Isis. What?!? Hold on a gosh-darn tick! "Only the dark side"?!!! There is NO LIGHT SIDE TO ISIS!!! They are TERRORISTS, for "Effs" sake! TERRORISTS! They murder innocent people. They cut of their heads, they stone them and the blow them up. They sure do love killing women and children and selling women as sex slaves. There is nothing light or good about them. NOTHING!

By now in the series Sabrina should be 20.

I enjoyed a lot of elements from season One, but find the series overly sexual. Greg Berlanti's productions, which includes the many DC Comics Television series, tend to be of characters of a "loose" nature and prominently LGBTQ with everyone swapping sexual partners frequently as though monogamy and committed relationships are something to be shunned. This isn't to say that LGBTQ relationships shouldn't be represented it is just that it is so heavy handed that sometimes it seems as though the shows should be on the cinemax of the mid 80's to mid 90's in the 3am time range. The way that sexuality is handled in these productions comes across as a disingenuous ploy to garner ratings, which may be what is intended. Shows derived from comic books are the current rage and writers, directors and producers need to remember that the source material works, and works well, without sexing it up. It should also be remembered that the source material is geared for young readers, many of whom are not old enough or mature enough for these adult themes. You can make these shows appeal to children and adults without sexualizing it to the point that children shouldn't watch it at all.

Worth watching at least once a year!

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this movie when it was first released and I loved it. I still love this movie and quote from it often. I watch this movie at least once a year. When the horses sing along to their campfire song I grin from ear to ear and my 8 year old daughter loved it too.

A pleasant surprise of a movie!
25 November 2018
I went into the movie hoping it was good but not sure how they could turn all the previous Nutcracker incarnations into a good movie. The movie was excellent! I really enjoyed it. It was very well done the visuals were incredible. And the concepts and storyline and plot twist were just really well done. I actually hope they make sequels for this. This could be Disney's next Pirates of the Caribbean style franchise.
