This is itchy! I am so itchy! I wish Ester didn't talk me into these polyester dresses. I enjoy wearing fine silks and furs for a reason.

However, the gold filigree pattern against the emerald green is stunning on me.

I think this cheap polyester has reacted poorly with my flawless skin. As I walk to the clinic Ester recommended, all I can feel is a New York Yankee sized baseball on my right inner thigh. It has been bothering me for weeks. Ester says it's probably from chaffing and she gets it too. What does that silly cow know? She's the one who never stays away from the lemon squares after Sunday Mass.

Every luncheon for weeks, Ester hasn't stopped yammering on about the doctor I am seeing at the clinc.

Some 'Dr. Guy'. Apparently he has been working on a machine that removes bumps painlessly with ease. I finally took her up on the advice and made an appointment.

Walking into the clinic, I notice a disheveled and nervous nurse 'Patty'. She ought to clean up, she looks unprofessional. As I wait in the waiting room I hear a males voice yell 'One last push!' and I wonder if I stepped into an Obstetricians office by accident.

I have waiting been quite awhile. It will be worth it though to see Dr. Guy. I trust Ester even if she is a daft cow.

The Shimian (2022)

Fantastic Indie Horror!

Aptly, not much sleeping happens in "The Sleepless Forest", where most of "The Shimian" (2022) takes place.

There are a lot of great things to say about this film. My favourite thing? The music and sound. It lifts you when it needs to and lulls to pacify seamlessly. I have some new bands I need to look up.

The cinematography is equally SICK. There are so many more breathtaking scenes than the first one shown here.

I wasn't focused much at all on The Shimian itself. (sorry ya'll) That is because this is a character driven film where the interpersonal relationships and conflicts are truly the focus. The acting and dialogue for these evolving relationships are relatable and emotion filled.

There are some "OMG!", jaw dropping moments and scary beastie action for sure, no worries about that.

I really enjoyed this. I think you will too if you decide to give it a chance. On @tubi now!

Um, yeah, I needed this show. I think the pilot was Boss, I think the acting is fab, the concepts....fresh new ideas .....I am a happy woman. This is great. If you loved Fringe especially, give this a chance.

I am surprised amassed ratings are not higher. This show has broken down and through issues within my psyche....in other words.....my mind is"blown". The writing is so impeccably creative and original. This is what the 21st century is missing in most tv programs: substance. Huge thumbs up for the Duplass bros and all whom work on this gem that is not getting enough recognition.

Warning: Spoilers
I, like many fans, was longing for a second season. With Marling at the helm, I was pretty sure I would not be dissapointed. And I wasn't. Season 2 exceeded any and all of my expectations. The octupus scene is incredibly powerful and iconic. I enjoy shows that make me think behind their 55 mins, ones that I learn from, ones that are pure art. This isn't just another Netflix series folks, this is high art, created by intense talent and passion. I am sure season 3 will be worth the wait too.

Originality and creativity will give this show staying power. The main character Christine is likeable, her house critters are cute and funny. The set design, fashion, props and of course, Food!, make this an enjoyable watch for kids and adults alike!
