Remedy (2014)
Worse than The Manson Family
This is the ugliest family put together since the Manson's hit the dessert. The one daughter keeps trying to kill people on the table. Dad uses blackmail to keep a drug addict that has proved incompetent employed at the hospital. The mother is a pizztank and the son is a tweaker. The other daughter left needles where a worker could get HIV from it and then the family covered it up. They use relationships like a shirt. They pull it on in the morning and dump it in the hamper at night. No one seems to be able to escape their unholy clutches. People are trapped like rabbits in the headlights. The entire family uses their friends like dirt. I am not a coward but I shudder now every time I see a hospital. I wonder if it could be harbouring a crazed bunch of home grown incompetent narcissist lunatic users like Remedy has for staff. This should be on the horror network.
Man of Steel (2013)
Didn't quite make it.
This movie just left me flat all the way through. It was like they got mesmerized with the special effects to the point where everything else was left behind. I don't understand why every movie done on comic book hero's feels they need to go back and explain their version of the origins. If we are there to watch the movie, we already know about the beginnings, likely with more detail than the director and screen writer. It took at least forty minutes before there was a chance of any new story line. Then there was a good twenty five minutes of special effects. That left an hour for a new story. That just isn't enough time.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011)
Oh so much stinkosity
This is my first review and I am doing it to spare others from spending their time and money on this stinker. I loved the first one. It was light, fast, and a bit kitschy like the old batman series. The graphics was done well and it all moved smoothly and quickly to a fun conclusion.
This last movie was so bad I don't know where to start. The ghost rider went from glib quick action super hero to twitchy slow moving zombie. The bike which I loved in the first movie was dumped for a a simple stock speed bucket Harley. They added fire animations around the wheels and at the back.
It was a pitiful effort. The Bad guy looked like a regular Joe who had lost a fight with a bag of flour. Think of the old movie "Powder". The movie itself looked like a mock up rather than a real movie. It was cheap, clipped and impossible to find a story in it. I gave it a score of 1 because I would pay the movie price all over again if I could just have that time back.
