The first match of the evening was New Day vs Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles and Omos. This was made due to a brawl during the kickoff show. This was really a filler match for the PPV. When I first heard about the match I got disappointed. I don't think I've ever seen a filler match kicking off the PPV. The match was fine but it felt a bit like an extended main event of RAW. NEW DAY winning wasn't a bad move. I guess they will be "separated" again during the draft. Should've seen more of OMOS in the match. The miscommunication between Bobby Lashley and AJ Styles was bound to happen. If you watch RAW you know why. Bobby Lashley taking the pin was something I didn't like. Anyways, a good match to start the PPV. Happy for BIG E.
The next match was for the Smackdown TAG TEAM championship. I don't think I've seen them having a bad match against each other. Such a good chemistry between them. Their match last night wasn't any different. The near falls and breaking up the pin in this match was very good. Montez Ford despite having a bad rib he did very well. He does the best splash in WWE at the moment. I wanted The Street Profits to win but they lost. It will be interesting to see what's next for them. Let's just hope they won't be separated during the draft.
The 3rd match of the evening was for the RAW women's title. Despite having a bad buildup this was a good match. This was the best Alexa Bliss looked ever since she changed her gimmick. If you read my previous reviews then you should know that I am not a fan of Alexa Bliss' hocus pocus. I miss her old gimmick. Thank god there wasn't any of that in this match. Anyways, she was really good in this match. Both of them were good in this match. I wanted Charlotte to retain. I didn't want her to lose so that she can regain next week. What I didn't like the attack after the match. Which means the feud will continue unless they get drafted to different brands. Now that Lily is ''dead'' let's see what's next for Alexa Bliss.
The next match is for the US title. Triple threat matches never disappoint in WWE. As everyone I was behind Jeff Hardy during the match. After his 24/7 title run-in everyone is behind Jeff Hardy more than ever. Sheamus taking the pin was the right call because fans would've turned on Priest then. I wanted Priest to retain but also didn't want Hardy to lose. Priest has been booked very well since his main roster debut as he should. He surely will be a star in the future.
After the US title match it was time for the Smackdown Women's title. This match had the best buildup for Extreme Rules. This match felt like a main event from the beginning. What a back and forth match it was and as always I am gonna say that Bianca Belair is the EST of WWE. She means it. As of now the everything in this PPV was going very well but then WWE had to be WWE. This awesome match ended due to disqualification by Sasha Banks. I know it was good to see her but come on. It's not like we rarely get dq finishes in WWE. It happens at least once in every show. I guess at Crown Jewel it will be a triple threat match.
Now it's time for the main event. This was the match of the night as predicted. This is the only match where I felt like this is Extreme Rules. I love the Demon Finn Balor. He should've been undefeated but Roman Reigns also can't lose either. What a fight between these two wrestlers. Twice I was at the edge of my seat because I thought Balor was gonna win. Man I really wanted him to win. I knew Finn Balor wasn't gonna win so something would be done to protect Finn Balor. But the way he was protected here was really weird. This is one of the weirdest endings I've ever seen to a match. I don't know what's next for Finn Balor. Maybe he will be drafted to RAW who knows.
The PPV was very good despite couple of flaws. The in-ring action was very good in every match in this PPV. My complain is why is there only 1 stipulation match ? I mean this is Extreme Rules PPV. Anyways, thanks for reading.
