Invincible: It's Been a While (2023)
Really good episode but VA seemed off
The episode in total was amazing, but the voice acting of Simmons seemed generic or auto generated at parts, which is not like him at all so I wonder what happened there.. it didn't suck me in as it normally would hence I didn't give it a 10. It usually feels way more personal instead of reading up the lines so my guess the editing was somewhat off.
The season stop after only 4 episodes and such a cliffhanger is a bummer as we finally got an episode that goes into the right direction again and lives up to the Invincible we know.
But alas we'll have to wait until January to see what happens next.
Ojing-eo geim: VIPS (2021)
How? Just how can you have such bad casting?
The acting of the VIP's was just elementary school level. A producer as big as Netflix could've gotten something better than the people who portray the vip's, then again maybe they are rich and just bought themselves these roles as clearly they've never acted before. Ruined the whole episode.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (2020)
Utterly amazing
Jon and Dave please be in charge of any future Star Wars content. This was mind blowing good.
The Serpent: Episode #1.1 (2021)
Utterly boring pilot
Where the trailer and plot seemed very promising, the first episode is lacking in almost every aspect.
Bad casting, mediocre acting, dull dialoges and so on.
What could've and should've been a gripping start and series as a whole The Serpent by Netflix is sadly enough just not.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 8: Redemption (2019)
Anticlimactic
Throughout the series the pacing was on point, putting the filler-episodes aside, but in this episode it felt quite off.
The events that happened were in correlation with each other but in combination with the pacing it lacked impact and tension, something that definitely should be there in the season finale.
Also, some things just did not make sense, for example the 'Stormtrooper' scene in the beginning, but even more the fact that no one checked on Gideon to actually see if he is dead.
In the end this isn't what makes the episode not live up to what it could have been. It is the fact that the whole episode felt like little scenes which were not in full correlation with each other, thus lacked impact without building up tension and therefore felt anticlimactic and could not blow my mind like last week's episode.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 5: The Gunslinger (2019)
Bad filler
Putting in fillers as the Mandalorian is a bounty hunter and in his journey 'needs' jobs like these due to seen certain circumstances is fair, nevertheless is it incomprehensible that they went from the first three quality episodes to these non-memorable fillers.
The acting was just cringey to watch, as they try to portray the 'villain' with a Han Solo vibe with his feet on the table in Tattooine in combination with the 'annoyed but oh so caring' repair lady. Referring to another review, which pictured the acting as it could have been from a Teen Nickelodeon production is quite accurate and thus really disappointing for it to be seen here.
Numerous positive replies were also aiming at character development in this episode but even this was almost non-existent and not to the extent for it to be excusable to deliver such sloppy casting/story telling for what 'The Mandalorian' could have been.
