This episode is great, not to mention WAY ahead of it's time. The only issue I have with it s Michael Ayr's acting. Doug and Clayton want to get married, they're supposed to be in love. But, Doug just seems so wooden and awkward the whole time that it's hard to focus on anything else.

This woman has the epitome of a victim mentality, that's the only way I can think to put it. Any time anyone tried to hold her accountable, she refused to accept responsibility for her actions. That's why she became a fugitive instead of owning up to the crime. The fact that she ran made for an interesting story, and I'm glad no one was injured or killed this time, but after awhile, I got sick of listening to the perpetrator constantly complain about everything being everyone else's fault.

I don't understand why this movie is such a big deal. I was only 7 when it came out, but I've tried to watch it several times and I just can't. It's so boring I've never made it through the whole thing. The plot is pointless and the scene where Cher gets mugged is completely unrealistic; or maybe that's the point? It has a low-budget feel to me which may be due to it's age, or bad acting. It almost seems like the whole thing was supposed to be a cheap parody of something else.

Between the acting and the ending, I'm giving what I feel is a generous review since the themes are so well done.

The acting was horrible, to the point that it's almost difficult to watch and of course the end is not realistic at all. It's no surprise that Beth Ann is bitter after what she's been through and she shouldn't be taking it out on everyone, but once she's saved and makes peace with everyone, God miraculously heals her and she can walk again like nothing even happened. She was told she would probably never walk again, so this is completely unrealistic. The moral of this story is supposed to be forgiveness, so I get it,but the ending ruined the movie for me. It's basically saying that you're only stuck in life because of your own choices or because God is trying to teach you something, and once you learn whatever the lesson is, you'll be fully healed or get whatever you're asking for. Most of the time, this isn't the case and I think it goes beyond symbolism. I think a more realistic ending would've saved it though.

I wanted to like this movie, I really did, but for all the big names, it screams low budget. The underlying concept of addiction is what I fell for. I like the serendipitous elements, like she ends up working for "Successful Savings" by accident and manages to find a niche (and a handsome boss who falls for her), but I couldn't get into it. There are scenes that I can't even watch just because they're boring or pointless, namely the dinner and ball scenes. I think it's more the quality than the story line. Addiction to anything is a serious illness that can bleed into all areas of your life. They covered that well, but the acting comes across as fake and it's not even realistic. Yes, I get that it's a movie, and not meant to be real-life, but still. Even if they wanted to use big name actors, the quality makes it seem fake and corny rather than something people actually struggle with.
