Love, Death & Robots: Jibaro (2022)
Absolute work of art
Incredible visuals, sound and story telling without a word spoken. By far my favorite episode yet. Gorgeous and unsettling throughout. Now I just need to hit the character minimum to leave this review.
Julia (2022)
Accidentally in love
I'm the last person you would expect to be a fan of this show. I'm a young(ish) male who likes huge epics, action movies and expansive universes. I only gave this show a chance because I've watched everything else. I didn't grow up in the time and really wasn't even familiar with who Julia was but I was hooked by the end of the first episode. Julia is incredibly endearing and you only want her to succeed and share in her joy.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Couldn't make it 20 minutes.
This is Wonder Woman's Bat-nipples. Hammy, over-acting extras, and campy writing. I loved the first one so this cuts deep.
Project Power (2020)
I don't get all the hate
The movie was better than all the X-Men movies. The acting is solid, the CGI was dope. The story is about what you can expect from a sci-fi super hero kinda thing. It was a lot of fun
Harley Quinn (2019)
I originally rated this a 7.
Just finished the first season and came back to give it a 10.
Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan (2018)
Absolutely Adorable
I don't know what it is about the animation, but it nails emotion through visuals. I laugh out loud often, and love the voice actors. There are times when it does not seem to know what it is, or what direction to go, but I'm only halfway through so all may reveal itself. Either way I'm loving it.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
Absolutely fantastic
My only gripe is not enough Mulaney! Every shot in this movie was rendered with a purpose, not a frame wasted. A lot of fun, a lot of emotion.
The Flash (2014)
Meh
I think the Smallville comparison is pretty apt. The (young) Flash is full of cheesy dialog, obvious plots and bad physics, but it's still kind of fun if you look past that. Which for me is kind of hard. The science jargon is annoying for anyone in the fields of physics, computers, or biology, but that's par for the course in most shows today. For example, they claim that he runs faster than the speed of sound, but then say he runs ~300 mph, less than half that of sound. No one can see him when he runs (except us, of course) and he can apparently snatch people up at those speeds without injury. Hopefully the show will get better.
