I liked it as a movie, even though it was not true to the comic.

I have read most of Mampato's comics, and I am a big fun. When I heard that the movie was in production (year 2000 or something like it). I was very exited, but when I saw it, I was a little disappointed. First of all I did not like how they would put commercial use in the movie, for example it's use of the Internet (Terra). It was completely unnecessary, I simply didn't like that. Also I didn't like the changes in the parents of the kid. Physically speaking, they did not show the average Chilean citizen compared to the original comic. As a movie it was a great movie, but I will acknowledge that I was a little disappointed with it. It is a great film for kids though, and they will learn from it.

It is not only complete gore, but also it doesn't tell anything about Christ

Warning: Spoilers
I am not a very religious person, but I sure find the bible (new and old testament) very intriguing. When I saw of the movie "passion of the Christ" I saw a small fraction of Jesus life, which might be very factual to the bible, but (in my opinion) did not make a big change for the religion. Through out Jesus's life, he taught all the good things of the Christian religion, not through his torture and death. I mean, how many martyrs have been tortured and killed? If I made a movie about the passion of Che or some other person, I would not get the religious vote, instead I would be marked as a gore movie writer. I don't know. I didn't like the movie as a movie, because it was basically the same thing I would see at the butchery, and religiously speaking, the movie did not speak to me.

It was a good mindless little comedy

I saw promedio rojo with very low expectations (may be that's why I liked it). When I saw this movie, I first thought it was going to be the typical teen movie with the nerdy kid getting the good looking girl at the end. But instead I got Nicolas Lopes crazy world. What I really like about this movie is that the set up is basically a comic about the main character, which gives more freedom to switch from the characters imagination and reality. Also I liked how it poked fun of every teen movie, and also other big Hollywood hits (star wars, lion king, etc). Unlike every teen movie, the ending is not a happy one, and it leaves the viewer waiting to see what's going to happened. I really enjoyed this movie, and I recommend it to anyone.

This movie is about a school to teach children to be circus performers, this school gives them something to do after school
22 January 2005
This documentary is very interesting, it shows the life of different kids, who generally live in low class neighborhoods. And how a circus school institution gave them the opportunity to learn how to be a circus performer after school.

The director and producer German Liñero made this idea a work of art by showing the life of different kids, who studied at that circus, and showing how the circus had changed their life for good. The school made each kid care for something real, and to have bigger goals. Also the school had some kids had bad life filled with drugs and crime. And that circus institution made them leave their bad life, and made them care more about their future.

I believe everyone should see this movie because it shows hope for every social class.

Machuca (2004)

This movie is about a child living in 1973, where Chile was politically imbalanced

I believe that this is one of the best Chilean films ever made. The director chose excellent actors, and his idea for his movie was very creative. I don't normally feel emotional after watching movies, but at the end, when the director played the song "Mira Niñita" from Los Jaivas, I almost cried.

The movie gave a very well balanced view of each side of social class. Giving one a better understanding of why things happened how they happened.

I have to say, most movies with kids actor are major garbage in my opinion, but Machuca was a great film, with a great plot.
