Red, White & Royal Blue (2023)
Not the story of Red, White, and Royal Blue at all.
Not a faithful adaption to the book at all. Horrible filming quality, trashy dialogue, and a telling of events with absolutely no depth. Both Alex and Henry are not portrayals of their written counterparts at all. The story lacks the depth and beautiful of the book. So many plot points are missed and instead replaced with rushed trashy scenes instead. There is no Rafael Luna. Alex's parents are not divorced. Both Alex and Henry's hesitance to come to terms with their sexualities are completely erased from the story. The genuine romance and understanding within the written text is not shown at all and instead replaced with a Hallmark movie level relationship development. I am so disappointed as a fan of the book.
The Novice (2021)
Fuhrman Excellence
Captivating and the acting is amazing. The perfect mix of drama, thriller, and enough levity to avoid being too dark. The plot is great, but the acting elevates it to another level.
Rogue (2020)
Deserves Better Reviews
While it wasn't a cinematic masterpiece, the script had many genuinely good moments, and I enjoyed myself!
The Wilds (2020)
Most Interesting in a Long Time
This was easily the most interesting show I've watched in a long time. The plot contains so many multitudes, it's women centric, and you'll fall in love with all the characters and how in depth and developed they are. The last episode has left me hanging and season two can't come fast enough.
To the Stars (2019)
Nice Character Driven Coming of Age Tale
The acting was extremely well done, the plot - while not necessarily action driven - is done very well and the character development is fantastic.
Escape Room (2019)
Wasn't Expecting Much, But Really Enjoyed It!
I wasn't expecting much going into the movie, but I really enjoyed it! There are definitely a few plot holes, but over all a really great watch, with the strong potential for a sequel.
The Prestige (2006)
Mindblowing
An utterly amazing work, with twists that will blow your mind. It's also great to watch a second time and pick up on all the things you missed.
Down a Dark Hall (2018)
Beautiful Cinematics, Faltering Plot
This movie was visually stunning, and had the opportunity to seize a strong plot, but altogether fell short in the end. Still, it's not a bad watch when you're not expecting excellence, and the acting is really quite good at times. Definitely enjoyable, but disappointing that it didn't go the final distance.
