Shadows of Tombstone (1953)
Memorable Performance by Jeanne Cooper
I would never have watched this movie in a million years, if it wasn't for Jeanne Cooper, and sure enough, she delivered a memorable performance! In addition to seeing "Mrs. Chancellor" when she was really "young and restless", the movie actually had a few interesting twists and turns in the plot. Additional comic flourishes were provided by a young Slim Pickens. We all know of Mrs. C's fondness for horses, and in this movie we get to see how she really is an accomplished rider! As editor of the town newspaper, she also takes on the corrupt sheriff with her characteristic tough talking. At 53 minutes, the movie's no longer than a Y&R episode, so for all Jeanne Cooper fans, this is not to be missed! By: Elmer

Young and Beautiful "Jeanne Cooper" Redeems this Movie
I imagine many people find and watch this movie simply because it stars Jeanne Cooper. As would be expected, she absolutely stole the show! What a treat to see "Mrs. Chancellor" when she was so young and beautiful (if not also "restless"). Otherwise, the plot is pretty lame; after pulling off their train heist with "Mission Impossible" precision, the robbers are quickly tripped up by sloppy and stupid mistakes. However, Mrs. C. not only manages to fire up the metal smelting furnace, but also keeps a supply of sandwiches and coffee flowing, and with no help from Esther! Every fan of Jeanne Cooper will love this movie; the five stars are all for her! By: Elmer.
