This Is Us: Super Bowl Sunday (2018)
This is such a good show
This was a great episode. Writing this comment with tears still falling from my eyes. The comibination of the acting, the drama, the music worked so well together. No wonder the cinema's are emptying. TV is so good right now.
I only wish everything good for the creator, writers, directors, actors, musicians of this serie. Hope they can finish it in the way they intend it.
Spoilers
Jack's passing phasing us to Randall's older daughter's future... Perfect !
Maleficent (2014)
Great surprise
Must see. Was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. I loved Elle Fanning in the role of Aurora. I could feel her joy and love for life from the big screen. I didn't feel the same way regarding her friendship with Maleficent. But the acting of Angelina showed the devotion of her character in the last act.
Murder on the Orient Express (2017)
Good
I've seen a lot of episodes with David Suchet as Poirot, mostly because of my best friend who's a big fan of him, so I was a bit fool by the mustaches on the poster and the placement of the actors.
Anyways, the movie was good. The intrigue didn't build up as I'm used to but it's not a thriller. It's mostly a character driven mystery. I was not familiar with this story, so I was a bit surprised by the reveal and Poirot's choice at the end. And, Branagh's Poirot was a great rendition. Can't wait to see what the actor/director will tackle next.
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Well done everybody !
Great fun at the cinema. Could not believe how Taiki Waititi, Eric Pearson, Craig Kyle & Christopher Yost elevate the series. Third time's the charm hun ?
The vibrant colors, the music, the humour (even in the most sad and inappropriate places), the themes (there were so many, refugees, displacement, ptsd from war, colonialism, lost of family, homes, friends...), the character arcs, the interactions of these characters, the heroes, the villains, the intergalactical worlds... Everything went 20 times better than Thor 1 and 2. Well done everybody.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Great moment at the movies
Great follow up to Force Awakens. Good enough in regular format, will wait for a flashier movie for Imax, next time.
The plot moved along plausibly, the characters we were rooting for grew a lot (this is what happend to children in war settings) love the new addition, the imagery were beautiful. Unlike some people I did not waste my time the last 2 years coming up with fan theories and was greatly surprise by some turn of events. Would rewatch when the trilogy is over to see how well it flows. I like doing that.
