All Is Lost (2013)
One man! One boat! One vastly enjoyable film!
I must say, I really enjoyed this film. It was simple, there was no major Hollywood CGI, no major stunts, no bogged down dialog. It was simple and effective.
The film itself was smartly directed and Robert Redford executes some brilliant acting without complex dialog. I like to call this emotional acting where he uses his face and body to convey what his character is going through and that is why this film is so good. I was literally kept on the edge of my seat from start to finish. If something like this happened to me, I would be utterly dumb struck in what to do next, I would likely not last long having limited knowledge.
All is Lost is a gem of the film world and I suggest everyone to watch it.
Dark Vision (2015)
An insult to the horror genre.
I watched this movie without any expectations, there were no reviews to base it off or at least not to go into the film with any preconceptions. From the very first scene to the last, the acting is awful, cheesy, unconvincing and dull.
A horror movie for me, needs to be scary and tense, this film was neither. I never jumped or found myself dreading the next scene, instead I was wishing the torment would end. At this point, I was ready to scoop out my eyes and tear out my cochlear, so the torment would end.
I would not recommend this film to anyone. It was terrible.. Truly terrible.
