Garbage

What were they even thinking? Terrible scripting, horrible acting and a beyond stupid premise. I can only think David Hewlett had something on Jason Mamoa from their Stargate Atlantis days to get him to be a part of this pile of trash. To be fair I didn't go into this expecting much and yet I was still disappointed. There wasn't even a decent kill in the entire farce of a film. Do yourself a favour and spend the 85 minutes staring at a blank piece of paper instead of watching this!

I went into this not expecting a hell of a lot and what I got was a movie that was ok. Not good, not bad but ok. The acting is decent and the atmosphere builds in points without completely delivering. John Lithgow makes a fair attempt at replacing Fred Gwynn but really who ever could. If you haven't read the book or seen the original film you will live with the ending. If you have you'll no doubt be disappointed with its handling.

Just plain wrong

There is barely anything redeemable about this movie. The acting is terrible, the script is horrible, the concept is a disgrace and the effects, well they are another story altogether. Obviously there was no budget at all for creature concept so they hide this behind some weird and irritating tunnel, flashing light sequence so you can't actually see the demons (don't be fooled by the poster because that's as close as you get to seeing anything). Written and directed by the same person I can only hope he has now returned to his day job a long long way from the film industry.

Warning: Spoilers
To call this horror is borderline insulting. A cure for insomnia would be a better description. I don't know when this was supposed to be set but it seemed all over the place with old tube tvs but modern cars littered throughout as an example. The plot (for want of a better word) is thin at best. You have sex, something that changes shape follows you slooooowly, you die. Unless you have sex with someone else. Then it goes after them instead. If it kills them it comes back after you so be prepared to screw around as much as possible. The parents have little to no roll in this film and don't care what their kids are up to. There is no explanation of what this thing is, where it came from or why it's doing what it does slooooowly. Even an ambiguous ending that is abrupt at best. Is it gone or isn't it? The kindest thing I can say about the acting is nothing at all. Please, for the love of everything evil, don't make a sequel!
